Has a touch of smoky mineral reduction to the nose. There are intense white peach and fig fruits. There's just a touch of toasty development and a palate that is full, rich, layered and long. Lovely balance and starting to drink very well.

Nose is very expressive, with pears, pineapples, and mangoes. BeUtiful acidity, the mid palate shows some minerals, lots of tropical fruits like mangoes but also grapefruit, very balanced and elegant, fresh, with buttery undertones and aromatic wood on the medium long ending. Absolutely gorgeous and in a prime spot, this is a balanced Chardonnay of the highest caliber that sits in between the opulence of a California one and the elegance of a Buegundy one.

Presenting a clear, medium gold hue in the glass, this Leeuwin Estate 2012 Chardonnay exudes a captivating Burgundian-style bouquet brimming with notes of oak, vanilla, baked apple, and stewed pear. Upon tasting, it effortlessly reveals its superbly integrated, age-refined character, brimming with abundant fruit elements, touches of honey, and hints of buttery creaminess. It maintains an excellent balance, featuring medium acidity and tame tannins, contributing to a stellar mouthfeel. The wine is remarkably rich and textured, but stops short of becoming too oily or flabby, which only enhances the lasting impression of its lingering finish.

Still youthful pale. Just a gorgeous blend of citrus, spice and minerality. Might be underrating this.
