Kelvin's Baby Shower (Burlamacco, Amoy Street, Singapore): Pretty good, but this was an in-your-face wine – not quite my style. It had a huge, rich nose, with thick aromas of beeswax, honey and peaches wafting out of glass along with a little chalky, flinty undercurrant of minerality. With time, some sweet cream notes floated out as well. The was matched by a thick, layered, waxy mouthfeel on the palate, with big fat flavours of sweet stone fruit lined with spice and toasty, popcorny oak notes. There was a whiff of alcohol warmth in here somewhere as the wine then powered its way into a rich finish with yellow fruit, butter and nuts. There was some acidity that brought a decent balance to the wine, but any brightness or lift was otherwise quite buried by all that fruit. Oodles of oak aside, if you like the big, fruit-forward style, this is actually a pretty good wine and drinking well now. Not my thing though.

Golden but not browning which is more the color of 10yr plus Leeuwin. Nose honeyed and rich. Palate obviously Australian with lots of pinapple etc and oak but still with some restraint given its age. Enjoyable with food but drink up as it will fade fast from here - unless you like big buttery Chardonnays.

Deep gold in color. Very nice aged nose of dried fruit, dried apricot, trail mix, hay, and lemon curd. Quite a bit of vanilla, toast and smoke from oak. There is still a refreshing amount of acidity left, with a long finish of dried fruit, pineapple and just a hint of residual sugar. Very enjoyable, but I would drink it up soon if you still have it.

Lovely medium plus yellow gold in the glass. Very inviting nose with peach, lemon, ripe red apples, custard apples and honeysuckle. Nice dry, medium plus bodied palate with elegant summer fruits and honeysuckle. Unfortunately, a unpleasent, almost chalky (in a bad way) taste developed in the mid to end palate which spoilt the experience. Am sure that is not suppose to happen and wondered what the fault was.
