Light gold/green. This is a rich, luscious wine. Green apple, touch of lime, hint of yellow fruit. Smoke, cream, nuts. Intense, focussed and long. I am in Puligny but I am a fan so your mileage may vary. Got a round endorsement from all at the table and absolutely meshed with the smoked fish pie. This died that I might live.

Tasting Ground official tasting, 2015 New World Whites (Jerar restaurant): Vineyard purchased 1914, replanted 1990, first vintage in 1993, hand harvested, whole bunch, indigenous yeast, 100% barrel fermentation, malo-lactic, 11 months maturation in barrels -/- Very different in style, full on oaky, tight, flinty, the fruit lies in the back, layered. Great texture, fine oak with full body, high intensity, high acidity, citrus, grapefruit, beautiful, layered, long finish. The wine is still very fresh

From magnum. Very harmonised, fragrant and smooth. Fantastic drive and intensity, but nothing in excess. Ready to drink with a bit of air, and keeps getting better even without chilling. Wonderful QPR. It's quite complex, but of course can never beat the likes of Puglingy Montrachet Grand Crus.

Slightly richer and creamier than the 2014 but with an impressive mineral spine that keeps the whole thing standing to attention. As with all of these top notch, wallet friendly new-worlders, I suspect I will drink all of these before they reach their true potential but I will have plenty of fun in the process.

Wilson Daniels Dinner (Smyth and The Loyalist - Chicago IL): I like some things a lot about this wine, but others frustrate me. Impressive richness, but slightly fatter and oakier than I consider ideal. Lots here with impressive density, but this is more fun and obviously "New World" than the elegant style of wine others tell me is Kumeu's trademark. Maybe that is 2015. Still, very easy to enjoy.
