  • a nice chalky cherry taste with some licorice on the finish..a very fine wine..great with grilled dry age NY Strip!

  • Dark ruby with garnet rim. Aromas of mulberries, baking spice, cooked green pepper, a hint of mocha, some lovely floral notes. On the palate a strong acidic tannin base undergirds a rich aromatic fruit presence, raspberries and redcurrants dominating the darker plum fruit underneath, medium body and low to medium alcohol (13.4%). Long aromatic finish.

  • Wasn't able to pay as much attention as I would have liked as we were hosting a friend's birthday dinner. However, I think DavidB18's February and June notes really nailed this wine.

Decanted for a couple of hours and when we sat down for dinner this was just great. Paired perfectly with roasted beef tenderloin. I would also agree that this wine has years ahead of it.

  • This is special -- and great to see this style and quality in CA. A decant for a bit, not long, helps. An elegant integration of tannin. The not too sweet fruit and spice are balanced well – not overbearing. A softness to the wine that also makes it well matched with food. Great now. Years to go too.

  • The wine deserves a decant for an hour and more. The scent upon opening is robust and enticing. The nose floral and herbal with hint of forest. Early on, the vineyard herbs seem more prominent. The wine shows a unique balance of fruit (not too sweet), spice, oak/vanilla/cream, cloves and herbs. An excellent long finish showing a softer blend of oak, fruit and spice. Noticeable tannins that do not overwhelm the wine now. Years to go. Excellent.
