Community Tasting Notes (8) Avg Score: 93 points

  • Uncorked 2 hours prior to serving into Zalto Burgundy glass (“Fruit” day): Pale golden to the eyes with some fine slightly cloudy deposits.

Ripe citrus fruits like golden lemons. Chicken broth like meaty notes with ginseng notes. Sadly this is slightly cork tainted but the strong stuffing makes it up.

Signature saline minerality on palate. Good richness of flavours.

    94 points.

Second round: very much consistent with the first round. With ripe lemons and seaweed like notes.

3rd round: with increasing temperature more cork taint detected.

  • PNP into Zalto Burgundy glass ("Root" day): Medium golden to the eyes, nice colours, no visible deposits.

Western style chicken broth, saline minerals, golden citrus fruits like grapefruits and lemon peels. Freshly grounded spices. Very attractive already.

On the palate this became clear that it is still only at its early prime now, with harmony between minerality, acidity, rich mid-palate and a clean and persistent finish.

This should merit for another 5-10 years, which my past experience (1992 vintage) would evolve into additional tertiary notes of mushroom and deeper, preserved lemon peels which would significantly adds to its complexity of flavours on the nose and also finish.

94 points solid with potential to grow into 95 points territory with cellarage. Great wine to enjoy and keep.

  • Terrific and great poise with a seafood-heavy dinner. Had the depth and posture of a great white burgundy. Lightning strike acidity and great body.

  • Opened it 24 hours before drinking, which was the way to go (no decant). A beautiful wine. No rush.

  • Fantastic. I was surprised that this is still holding on. Nicely matured.
