Took to dinner with coworkers at Barbareno. Decanted for ~1 hour at the table. On the darker side of the spectrum for Barbaresco, more muscular impression, medium to full bodied, plenty of dark berries and anise on the nose, nicely open. This has matured nicely, the fruit has retained its vibrancy, while the tannins and texture have woven into the wine, acidity is well-balanced. Beginning, middle and end, elegant yet powerful. Long finish, dark fruit, anise, and tar.
Great pairing with a pork chop.
Early maturity, I think this is really in a sweet spot, and an excellent bottle (cork was in perfect shape). Drink with min 1 hour decant or hold.

Delicious light red berry fruit on the nose, with some wet wool notes. Nicely structured with fine tannins and a long, dry and tight finish. Very good indeed.

From a classic elegant vintage it's nice to find a Barbaresco just coming into its drinking window - something I find frustratingly elusive with Nebbiolo.

Slow-ox'd for two hour, decanted for two more. Heady, generous and attractive on the nose with rich, savory dark cherry, tar and bitter dark chocolate. Very charming. Full bodied and appropriately portioned on the palate with very rich and lively fruit and notable, grippy tannins that do not form a wall between me and enjoyment. A pretty masculine, muscular expression and so very clearly on its way up but for my palate mighty delicious and drinkable. There is some warmth there that makes me question the 14% ABV on the label but then it fits the overall package very well. The mid-palate could use a bit more depth but that’s me being unnecessarily critical. Overall this is a very tasty, classic Nebbiolo from one of the stalwarts.
