Tasted by xwine on 2/19/2023: Unfortunately, my last bottle of the 2013 vintage. Still a wonderful wine. (936 views)
Tasted by Peter Kleban on 6/29/2022: See previous TNs. This one was noticeably darker (IIRC) and "thicker" on the palate. Drank well, but not as elegant as other incarnations of this wine. (1092 views)
Tasted by madvulture on 6/9/2022 flawed bottle: Sadly, corked. Was really looking forward to this one. (1021 views)
Tasted by Enfant sauvage on 1/21/2022: Down to one bottle. Even in an weaker year, Briords rocks. (1374 views)
Tasted by ciesel on 11/17/2021 & rated 90 points: Has aged well. Unbelievable bargain for the price I paid. Little softer compared to when it was young. (1513 views)
Tasted by LW31 on 8/5/2021: Excellent. Sappy, bright, with good depth. Best 2013 muscadet I’ve had. (1544 views)
Tasted by xwine on 1/17/2021: Outstanding! Seems as fresh as it was on release, but with a bit of added texture and complexity. (1620 views)
Tasted by BillBell73 on 11/28/2019: Great muscadet...probably the greatest muscadet made year in and year out. Showing some complexity but this is still an acidic and fairly young wine. Will be interesting to see how this ages...my guess is it continues to mprove over the next 3-5 years. (2104 views)
Tasted by SiR on 9/2/2019 & rated 91 points: 12.0% - Clear, med straw / clean, pronounced intensity - ripe lemon, lemon flesh, shellfish, brine, freshly cut greens, nutmeg / dry, high racy acidity, med to light body, pronounced intensity, persistent finish. Another stellar bottle, unfortunately last one of the case! (2115 views)
Tasted by Cote d'Or on 8/30/2019: Light taut refreshing acidity more minerally than lees-y (1934 views)
Tasted by Cote d'Or on 7/30/2019: Tasted over 1 hr with picnic food
-translucent med gold
-saline ocean breeze lees
-med/med+ acidity, med- weight fading yellow fruit stone
-in a good zone now (1877 views)
Tasted by timewithwine on 7/11/2019: At six years out, this wine has now become creamy, having lost of its nervous verve. Abundant honeydew and an edge of white grapefruit with a finish of flint and mineral. Long gone is the sharp edge of this wine. 12% alc. With shrimp and grits. Recommended. (862 views)
Tasted by SiR on 6/24/2019 & rated 91 points: 12.0% - Clear, med straw / clean, med intensity - meyer lemon, honey, apple, nutmeg as it gets closer to room temp, saline, ocean mist, almond / dry, high racy acidity, med to light body, med+ intensity, persistent finish. Aging beautifully! 91+ (1842 views)
Tasted by WMWG on 6/15/2019 flawed bottle: Corked (1672 views)
Tasted by Rechrom on 2/24/2019 & rated 92 points: In a great place with good balance, great fruit and zippy acidity. (1804 views)
Tasted by isaacjamesbaker on 2/7/2019 & rated 90 points: No formal notes but this has evolved wonderfully. (1858 views)
Tasted by wayfarer on 12/22/2018 & rated 91 points: Great. Deep yellow in glass. Notes of lemon, aged lemon, light brioche, mineral, some hints of softer yellow fruit, all with essential lean muscadet profile, making for an interesting study in subtle richness. Served with oysters and cheese board, just perfect. Best bottle of six, and last one. (1630 views)
Tasted by wayfarer on 10/12/2018 & rated 90 points: Developing a layer of softness that complements the lemon and mineral elements. Added floral notes to nose that is quite nice. Not exactly more complexlty, rather maturing of what was there, a bit riper. Get the idea of a not exactly sweet honey effect. (1750 views)
Tasted by Julian B on 9/5/2018 & rated 92 points: I don’t have a lot of experience with Muscadet, but in my opinion this is drinking beautifully. The balance between the acidity and the fruit, coupled with that saline character, just made for a great feeling as it slid across my palate. (1811 views)
Tasted by Cote d'Or on 7/19/2018: Muted aromatics, nice minerality with adequate acidity, quite good but doesn't hit it out of the park like most other recent vintages of this wine. (2201 views)
Tasted by timewithwine on 7/8/2018: This bottling is always more restrained and nuanced than the regular bottling. Even at five years, the wine is a bit tight and reserved. Flint and mineral carry the nose and palate, but white grapefruit, honeydew, and lemon oil work their way across the palate. The acidity isn’t sharp, but it is the frame upon which the wine is built. Served a bit too cold. 12% alc. With grilled shrimp and fried green tomatoes. Recommended. (871 views)
Tasted by timewithwine on 5/26/2018: A year ago I noted, “Liquid gold! Still young enough to show a bit of green on the rim, but the core is sunny yellow. The nose is lemon oil, saline, cream, wet stones and melon. Crisp, clean, but neither sharp nor steely.” And so it is! All of $8.99. This is the definition of QPR. 12% alc. With shrimp and cheeses; killer with the shrimp. Recommended. (859 views)
Tasted by BillBell73 on 5/21/2018: Still very young and primary but seems to have the acidity and structure to gain interest in the cellar. Right now there’s a nice saline minerality but not much else...let it rest. (2438 views)
Tasted by Outplaying on 5/1/2018: This bottle showed much better than one about a month ago. Taut, clean and crisp, with citrus, mineral and saline notes. (2187 views)
Tasted by xwine on 4/19/2018: This is well served by a few years of age. Delicious, and now showing more depth and a slight creaminess to accompany the minerals and acidity. Excellent! (2103 views)

Melon de Bourgogne

Melon de Bourgogne or Melon is a variety of white grape grown primarily in the Loire Valley region of France. It is also grown in North America. It is best known through its use in the white wine Muscadet.

In the U.S., Federal law prevents "Muscadet" from being used for American-produced wine; only the full name of the grape, or the shortened "Melon" can be used.
