Tasted by rdsboca on 2/20/2024 & rated 94 points: This is in the perfect place for me. Red raspberry, cherry and strawberry with a tight knit mouthfeel. (412 views)
Tasted by SMHalps on 12/30/2023 & rated 92 points: Part of a dinner with my wine group at an Indian restaurant. While not everyone ejoyed it, most did. It was my 2nd favorite wine of the night, and it tasted more Grenache like than a Zinfandel. Long finish, full bodied. It tasted just a touch "hot" from the alcohol, which costs it a point in my rating. Nice to see a 10 year old Zin still drinking well! (378 views)
Tasted by PierreBrusso on 11/19/2023 & rated 94 points: Elegant - bright fruit, smooth, long finish. Complex bouquet. (316 views)
Tasted by djpo on 7/15/2023 & rated 92 points: Compelling medium red color and bright flavors that intensify on the palate. Complements red sauce well and finishes gently leaving you thinking what just happened. (592 views)
Tasted by merryberry on 6/5/2023 & rated 93 points: Muddy red color. Nose of fresh strawberry, spice, and cedar. Medium to full bodied, crushed raspberries, bing cherries, fully integrated tannins, sage, and a long, red-fruited finish. Definitely worth the wait. (628 views)
Tasted by guitarguy on 5/25/2023 & rated 89 points: Very light color, almost like a Pinot Noir with light red around the rim. Lots of herb, secondary flavors, molasses, leather, cola, pepper. Lots of tannin in the finish. (571 views)
Tasted by gwkozar on 5/19/2023 & rated 92 points: decanted 3 hours. raspberry, blackberry, plum, slightly herbal. low tannin, medium-low acid. (575 views)
Tasted by wineshaman on 1/28/2023 & rated 94 points: Tremendous showing tonight, paired with grilled marinated lamb chops, purchased at the winery November/2016.
From a PNP, lovely red and blue fruit, incredible nose, fully integrated, wonderful, long smooth finish. One of those memorable bottles/dinners! (817 views)
Tasted by cheryl Rybka on 8/3/2022 & rated 93 points: Awesome (1083 views)
Tasted by VAGenius on 5/20/2022 & rated 92 points: PnP. Powerful nose of cherries, roses, and oak. Zesty black cherry and red raspberry powered with acidity and spice, adding black plum and gravel. Polished, smooth finish with clay, black cherry, fresh thyme, and oak. Well balanced and ready to go. (1204 views)
Tasted by levinml on 1/25/2022 & rated 93 points: Still my favorite Turley vineyard and lived up to expectation. Good flavors and balance, drinking smoothly. Doing fine, and no reason to wait. (1318 views)
Tasted by lvjohn on 12/25/2021 & rated 94 points: Wow! I really liked this bottle because I almost finished it by myself! Matured into a complex wine with lots of red berry flavors. Great mouthfeel and purity. Nothing out of place. (1257 views)
Tasted by PinotPaul on 11/22/2021 & rated 92 points: Very nice Zin. (1205 views)
Tasted by btwine on 10/1/2021 & rated 94 points: Pnp. Great Turley zin. Still has life, and some tannin tightness. Nice acid touch. Strawberries, cassis, black pepper, hint of juniper. Long peppery finish. (1162 views)
Tasted by PierreBrusso on 9/12/2021 & rated 91 points: Nice Zin. Probably a little past its peak. (1085 views)
Tasted by Mtnmd1 on 8/28/2021 & rated 92 points: Fantastic primary fruit! (996 views)
Tasted by BGK810 on 2/12/2021 & rated 93 points: Big, rich wine with dark fruits, spice, fennel, and very nicely integrated oak. Has several years left. Pesenti is very consistent year to year, but this one is special. (1288 views)
Tasted by Glencoewine on 1/16/2021 & rated 93 points: In a great spot now after 30 min of air. Pesenti is one of our favorites! (1323 views)
Tasted by PinotPaul on 11/25/2020 & rated 94 points: Wonderful. Much better than the 750ml I had 18 months ago. (1285 views)
Tasted by ogres3 on 11/5/2020 & rated 92 points: Delicious. Drank in Death Valley. One of the top 20% of Turley zins. Drinking really well. Great fruit (1348 views)
Tasted by tomlee on 11/1/2020 & rated 95 points: Crimson in color. 15.9% ABV. Awesome nose of red and black fruits, baking spices and cracked black pepper. Full bodied with mouth watering acidity. Remarkably well balanced. Loaded with lush, sweet fruits. Black cherry, blackberry, peach and pepper on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. Tremendous Zinfandel that is aging so well. Best over the next 1-2 years. (1485 views)
Tasted by ogres3 on 10/24/2020 & rated 92 points: Very nice. One of my favorite Turleys. Great year, drinking quite well currently. (1110 views)
Tasted by levinml on 9/7/2020 & rated 93 points: Always a cut above the other Turleys (IMHO) and this lived up to my expectation. Good, deep flavors, long finish and no tannic aftermath. Drink anytime. (1218 views)
Tasted by markcic on 8/11/2020 & rated 90 points: This was my wine of the week. As chief cook and bottlewasher in this hosue I treat my self by coravining a glass of wine each night. This wine has red fruit on the nose. The palate was strawberry, cherry and spices leading to a moderate finish. It was enjoyable. I have had some Pesenti's from other vintages which I did not particulaly enjoy. This wine ws good. (1370 views)
Tasted by Tritioch on 5/15/2020 & rated 90 points: Disconcerting level of wine penetration on the cork for a wine only 7yrs past vintage, an increasingly common problem I’ve noted in Turley bottlings both mailing list and from retail. (This bottle purchased via Turley mailing list and stored in cellar since).

Dark lush brambleberry fruit, cherry compote, hints of eucalyptus and sage. Freshly opened this still showed tightness which softened after two+ hours of air. Dense and rich but it carries its weight well. Compote of cherries and vanilla with smashed berries and a continued whisp of eucalyptus. Desperately tries to sweep itself through the finish with its considerable weight marginally overwhelming the acidity and leaving a feint sweetness along with its considerable rich fruit character.

Consistently one of Paso’s better Zinfandel bottlings but perhaps a tad on the overripe side this year. Nevertheless, this handles its considerable bounty with some charm. (1343 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
