Tasted by Rusdry on 3/28/2024 & rated 91 points: berry nose with vanilla and leather. Definite oak palate supporting dark cherry. Medium acidity and dry finish. The 2012 is better than the ‘11, but not a standout. (208 views)
Tasted by Jeff U on 2/11/2023: Delicious (1397 views)
Tasted by PMJak11 on 1/13/2023 & rated 92 points: PnP. Dark red color. Modern Bordeaux nose of dark cherries and candied fruit. Fruit forward wine with hints of chocolate and plums. Medium plus depth. Very nice. (1203 views)
Tasted by Winokdub on 11/13/2022 & rated 91 points: A solid crowd pleasing wine. Drinking really nice right now. But still has many good years ahead too. (1370 views)
Tasted by rocknroller on 8/7/2022 & rated 91 points: Very dark red/purple color. PNP, drank a couple glasses over 2.5 hours. Sultry deep berries on the nose, creme de cassis, menthol, olive tapenade, cocoa bean. The palate is full bodied, cassis, wood spices, dark chocolate, gravel, moderate medium grained tannins. This looks to just be entering peak drinking with a modest upside. No rush here. 91+(+)pts. (1864 views)
Tasted by JTROCKER on 7/10/2022 & rated 87 points: Good, but not quite up to the Tapestry standards.
I though maybe it needed a bit of time, but it wasn't much better the next day.
I still enjoyed it, but it we felt it just wasn't as lush and full as most vintages. (1411 views)
Tasted by jafny on 4/3/2022 & rated 87 points: I'm a BV fan since they usually outperform my expectations but this bottle was not as lush and supple compared as others I've enjoyed. Still a good wine, unusually peppery, a bit lean, fair QPR. Drink up for sure. (1008 views)
Tasted by Laz4wine on 2/23/2022 & rated 89 points: Nose restrained except a bit of sweet oak. Deep dark boysenberry/balsamic fruitiness and mocha profile, with pleasant oaky-vanillin keeping things in check, just a bit of acidic bite on front end. Finish was silky and round but a bit short, drink up lads & lassies it’s time, upside seems doubtful. (1144 views)
Tasted by jaumealaska on 1/1/2022 & rated 93 points: PnP No notes taken. Wish I had bought a 6 pack of this; this was my last of 3. Great value then. This like the others had classic cassis nose, some eucalyptus, and blue fruit. Great round body with smooth tannins and long finish. (1352 views)
Tasted by Time traveller on 9/3/2021 & rated 92 points: Always a pleasure, never a disappointment, when properly stored how can one go wrong with this house? If you have never enjoyed BV wines, start now, you can thank me later! (1575 views)
Tasted by Jolayne0 on 6/12/2021: Dark red fruit on the nose, graphite and spice. Full body, jammy with soft tannins, smooth finish. (1812 views)
Tasted by Tiderunner22 on 5/30/2021 & rated 92 points: Last bottle of this vintage in my cellar. Great from start to finish. Beautifully balanced wine with pleasant fruit flavors on a medium frame supported by mellow tannins. (1607 views)
Tasted by Marshmallowman on 4/8/2021 & rated 91 points: Very Fruity and Tasty (1693 views)
Tasted by LenP on 2/28/2021 & rated 90 points: Good but lacked Cabernet punch. More fruit forward than 2011 but a but less lively (1684 views)
Tasted by Jettoy1992 on 12/30/2020 & rated 93 points: Perfect now (1632 views)
Tasted by Tiderunner22 on 12/25/2020 & rated 93 points: Enjoyed with Merry COVID Christmas dinner. Paid under $25 on sale a few years ago. I believe this wine is perfectly aged now. Drink now or hold for another couple of years. (1354 views)
Tasted by Bodyfxr on 11/26/2020 & rated 93 points: Decanted for over an hour. Can't go wrong ever with this wine. Great qpr. This isn't going to get any better. A $90 Napa cab for $40...ready and loaded for bear....drink up. (1534 views)
Tasted by levinml on 10/28/2020 & rated 93 points: Cut above mid-priced Napa cabs, and for $35 a real deal. Need to get more of these, regardless of vintage. Middle of fairway flavors, great balance and nice finish. Kind of profile/price that made Napa Cab famous. (1503 views)
Tasted by Chipa on 10/22/2020 & rated 91 points: Let it breathe and quite good (1394 views)
Tasted by cheetadad on 8/30/2020 & rated 89 points: Mellow drinker. Well integrated. Red fruit forward. Not much tannins to speak of. Don’t know how much longer this will last before turning. (1494 views)
Tasted by Margaux Bro on 8/22/2020 & rated 92 points: Needs an hours plus decant. Really started showing off after some air. BV tapestry is such a dependable classic napa Bordeaux blend. (1481 views)
Tasted by Laz4wine on 7/29/2020 & rated 90 points: First impressions of tomato skin, cedar toast, currants, with later development to distinct licorice and spicy elements. By day 3 it was a bit spent, with harsher raisin-fig and rougher tannins, to be expected. (1582 views)
Tasted by WineJ2019 on 7/12/2020 & rated 91 points: Drink now or soon (1428 views)
Tasted by levinml on 6/16/2020 & rated 91 points: Don't remember much, except it wasn't as great as the last bottle I had, which I really loved and scored 93. Not sure if it was me or the wine, but this was just OK by today's scoring standards. (1462 views)
Tasted by garygailkrivan on 5/15/2020 & rated 91 points: Still drinking well, tannins have laid down, well balanced, still plenty of dark fruit in this. to bad this was the last bottle. Had with a loaded pizza and went well together. (1644 views)

Red Bordeaux Blend

Red Bordeaux is generally made from a blend of grapes. Permitted grapes are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and rarely Carménère.Today Carménère is rarely used, with Château Clerc Milon, a fifth growth Bordeaux, being one of the few to still retain Carménère vines. As of July 2019, Bordeaux wineries authorized the use of four new red grapes to combat temperature increases in Bordeaux. These newly approved grapes are Marselan, Touriga Nacional, Castets, and Arinarnoa.

Wineries all over the world aspire to making wines in a Bordeaux style. In 1988, a group of American vintners formed The Meritage Association to identify wines made in this way. Although most Meritage wines come from California, there are members of the Meritage Association in 18 states and five other countries, including Argentina, Australia, Canada, Israel, and Mexico.

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
