Tasted by TexasBob on 4/15/2023 & rated 96 points: Very dark gold, darker than 24k gold. Sweet apricots and mango’s and peaches on the nose. Deeply complex wine with a nuanced finish with second and third order effects - apricots, ripe peaches, and ripe stone fruit with a touch of mango. Marzipan hits at the late stages. Exquisite.  Tasted by cephomer on 11/10/2020 & rated 91 points: PNP tonite with my salad. Overtones of burnt orange peel, figs and dried apricots pervade this sweetie. I've had this wine before and it's showing much better on this occasion. Fairly full bodied, with plenty of honey and beeswax. Some might find it cloying as it might be slightly lacking in acidity. I like this wine tonite tho! (497 views)
Tasted by TexasBob on 5/9/2020 & rated 94 points: Deep, rich gold. Burnt orange peel and honey on the nose. Fantastic notes of dried apricots dominate with secondary notes of passion fruit, honey, and an excellent sweet minerality. Really good, especially the long dried fruit notes. (420 views)
Tasted by cephomer on 4/7/2020 & rated 88 points: Drank last nite and I agree with other tasters. Dark gold color, nose of honeysuckle. Honey and melon on the palate, a bit too sweet and on the flabby side, and definitely a bit over the hill. (480 views)
Tasted by mjnickel on 12/31/2012: If you'd told me this was Madiera, I'd believed you. Old, hot and flabby, like Kathleen Turner. (1522 views)
Tasted by Paul S on 10/12/2008 & rated 88 points: At Lionel and Rachel's. My first Bonnezeaux. A yellow gold wine. Interesting, but not the most impressive of wines. This tasted really fortified, so I suspect that there may some kind of flaw. Almost like a white port, this showed figs, nuts and soy sauce on the nose, along with a slight floral, bergamot scent hovering around the edges of the wine. The palate was dense and oily in texture, rather heavy and leaden footed in spite of a lemony acid character undergirding fig and sultana flavours which carried into a longish, mouth puckering finish. Not the best pairing with the Eumenthal we had, which was a little more herbal. (1616 views)
Tasted by winefool on 7/1/2006 & rated 88 points: Full deep yellow. Pale bright yellow fruit aroma. A bit sour and bitter. Not great. 7/06 (1855 views)
