Tasted by dkfinancial on 10/2/2020 & rated 90 points: Hard as nails. Tight and tannic on opening. After an hour in decanter, it started to throw strawberry, balsamico and sottobosco. That said, the palate was still tightly wound and tannic. It's going to be a great wine, but I think it needs another 3+ years, and is likely to last toward 2030. (1770 views)
Tasted by Cabfrancophile on 7/18/2020 & rated 91 points: Strikes me as in its early maturity window. Red raspberry, licorice, herbs, sandalwood. Full bodied with fresh acidity on the attack, pomegranate a rhubarb, with a more expansive impression on the mid-palate and finish. The finish shows the typical tar and rose inner aromas, partial resolution of tannins but rather grippy overall. Fine wine, though I'll let my other 2005s sleep I think. (1889 views)
Tasted by Montecalvo on 3/26/2020 & rated 91 points: drinking very well. No sign of funkiness, age or other problems. (1546 views)
(1848 views)
Tasted by ChristP on 3/31/2019 & rated 93 points: Upon pulling the cork, there was an immediate floral aroma combined with red fruits. I poured a first class to give breathing space in the bottle. In the glass the color was a dark burgundy red with no signs of age. It took around 40 minutes for the wine to loosen up after which there were dark and red fruits with medium acidity and quite smooth tannins. The aroma continued to facinate. Finish was medium-long. Overall, this is a very satisfying Barbaresco Risera that seems to be at its peak maturity, which I expect to hold good for at least another 5 years. (1743 views)
 Tasted by WBK on 12/3/2018: Fadi Dec ‘18. $90. 91pts. (1603 views)
(2060 views)
Tasted by Perthor01 on 2/11/2018 & rated 93 points: has 20 more years ahead of it..... (1987 views)
Tasted by maxima on 2/11/2018 & rated 91 points: Souple et salivant, se boit très bien en ce moment.
Des roses, de l`anis, du goudron et des cerises sur de beaux tannins fondus, rien n`accroche.
Impeccable! (2328 views)
Tasted by H2OMansLibrary on 1/20/2018: Plenty of life in this wine. Rich nose of licorice, herbs, and fruit. Plenty of tanning and a beautiful and interesting palate on this wine. Lots of fruit but also some leather. Really good place right now but can go longer if you like. At least 3-5 more years in this. (1679 views)
Tasted by ScottPreston on 1/7/2018 & rated 95 points: Stunning wine in a perfect place right now. Easily 5-10 more years left (1682 views)
(2333 views)
Tasted by Demikalsen on 8/26/2017 & rated 92 points: Starting to getting mature. Still needs air. Had with caribou with rasberry sauce, a really good match. Tar, leather, hint of strawberry. Long, slight bitter after taste. (1423 views)
Tasted by 560 B&W on 3/2/2017 & rated 92 points: Decanted. Still very pretty and balanced. Not fading. 14% (2002 views)
Tasted by Tag01 on 2/12/2017 & rated 90 points: Double decanted for 2 hrs. Served with bison striploin.
Colour:typical Nebbiolo colour with orange at rim. Clear, little sediment
Nose:red raspberries, minty, somewhat muted.
Taste:firm tannins, big long finish. Red fruits on palate, then some menthol at end. Nice finesse typical of Barbaresco. Good but not great. (1999 views)
Tasted by O'Meara on 9/30/2016: Vibrant crimson with a faint orange rim. Cocoa, mint, rose petals, and tart cherries rise from the glass. Cranberries and dusty tannins dominate the slightly hollow palate. The fruit and grippy tannins work now, but the fruit is playing second fiddle. Despite the ample acidity, I would drink this within a couple of years before the underripe fruit fades. (2210 views)
Tasted by acyso on 6/12/2016 & rated 90 points: Vinetasters: 2007 Produttori (Skokie, IL): Served single blind. #8431. This may have been a bit simpler than the rest of the wines, but what it lost in complexity it made up for in sheer deliciousness. The nose is on the high-toned side, and shows a lot of light red fruit. A bit more fruity on the palate as well, this is a very pretty example of a Barbaresco. My 2nd, group's 5th. (3506 views)
Tasted by Uncle John on 2/15/2016 & rated 92 points: Opened 2 hours before but not decanted. Medium body wine with nice acidity and fine tannins. This wine is drinking well now but I feel it will be better in 2+ years. (2421 views)
Tasted by Montecalvo on 11/20/2015 & rated 91 points: Drinking very well at present. Young and powerful but definitely approachable. (2159 views)
Tasted by 560 B&W on 10/4/2015 & rated 92 points: Decanted. Great balance and weight. Best on day 1; faded on day 2. 14% (2239 views)
Tasted by Perthor01 on 12/16/2014 & rated 91 points: Good stuff..... (2846 views)
Tasted by bomber99 on 4/6/2014 & rated 88 points: Never opened up, might have been a little early. (3422 views)

O ok just

Nebbiolo

Nebbiolo is a red grape indigenous to the Piedmont region of Italy in the Northwest. The grape can also be found in other parts of the world, though they are not as respected.

Nebbiolo is often considered the "king of red wines," as it is the grape of the famed wines of Barolo DOCG, Barbaresco DOCG, and Roero DOCG. It is known for high tannins and acidity, but with a distinct finesse. When grown on clay, Nebbiolo can be very powerful, tannic, and require long aging periods to reach its full potential. When grown on sand, the grape exhibits a more approachable body with more elegant fruit and less tannins, but still has high aging potential.

"Nebbiolo" is named for the Italian word, "nebbia", which means "fog", in Italian and rightfully so since there is generally a lot of fog in the foothills of Piedmont during harvest.

Nebbiolo is a late-ripening variety that does best in a continental climate that boasts moderate summers and long autumns. In Piedmont, Nebbiolo is normally harvested in October.
