Tasted by kultcha on 11/19/2011 & rated 89 points: Deep golden colour like an Auslese but with a brown tinge. Nose was pretty muted. Based on these two facts I figured it was going to be dead. However, it actually still had a fair amount of life. Typical minerals of a Sauvignon Blanc, hints of fruit with some maderized flavours and what I felt was a rootbeer like flavour towards the finish. A decent amount of acidity gave it energy. Very interesting to drink though not as fresh and bright as a 1998 we tried a few weeks ago. (4918 views)

Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 12/13/2001 & rated 92 points: A private dinner (Restaurant Châlet Royal *, Den Bosch, Netherlands): Intense SB, slightly less explosive and more mature than last year, vegetal and balanced, blackcurrant finish. (4804 views)
Tasted by OneLastSyrah on 11/15/2001: ($25) Flinty and tangy with grapefruit overtones and grass. Quite tangy with good length. (5440 views)
Tasted by OneLastSyrah on 10/1/2001: ($22) Great concentrated grassy mineral fruit. Great with Ibores goat cheese. Enjoyed this wine more than I had the last couple bottles tasted. Turned out it was the vintage. I think the 1999 has better concentration and expression than the 2000. (1951 views)
