Tasted by lung2297 on 6/29/2022 & rated 90 points: Not bad Riesling trocken. (116 views)
Tasted by UnconditionalSurrender on 12/26/2019: My last bottle of this was about two years ago. Today, unfortunately, this is not drinkable anymore. While the nose was promising enough, there was a deep bitterness on the palate, that made swallowing absolutely impossible. Lesson learned: Don't keep mediocre dry whites for too long. (323 views)
Tasted by kdsipe on 7/9/2016 & rated 91 points: Delicate, pure aromas of pineapple, peach, sugar cane, slate and petrol. Very cool and subdued. Medium bodied on the palate, smooth, balanced and mouth filling with lots of extract, good acid, flavors of lemon, slate and herbs, with a long, clean, gentle finish. Some thickening on end. I love the way the extract covers the acid. Nice. Good for another 5 years. Good with garlic chicken and a booring salad. (692 views)

Weingut Tesch Langenlonsheimer Königsschild Riesling Trocken

South of the LÖHRER BERG we find the loose loess clay of the KÖNIGSSCHILDS, which is interspersed with shell limestone. It is thanks to the looseness of the soil that the old roots of the Riesling vines, following the deep seeping water, work their way into the ground up to 15 meters deep.

Especially when they are young, the Rieslings smell wonderfully playful and floral. In terms of taste, the wines appear polished, soft and elegant. The name is probably due to its affiliation with the Ingelheimer Kurpfalz, the winter residence of Charlemagne.

#2014 Vintage Notes:
2014 Vintage Report by Terry Theise
2014 Vintage Report by Wine Spectator
"My gut still tells me the Saar (and to some extent) the Ruwer are better overall in 2014 than the more storied areas of the Mosel proper, but those that spent the requisite time living in their middle-Mosel vineyards made some of the most electric and "feathery" Riesling in a long time (maybe the finest in 20 years - yes, it's true!)" - Jon Rimmerman (Of course only a very short historical memory would call the Saar and Ruwer less 'storied' than the middle Mosel - jht)

Nahe
