Tasted by Rod T on 4/17/2020 & rated 90 points: Smooth and balanced. Spicy overtone with bouquets (981 views)
Tasted by herzog330 on 9/13/2019 & rated 87 points: A touch of life left. Still oak present. Ready to drink. (1063 views)
Tasted by JacquesDallas on 1/4/2019 & rated 90 points: Well balanced - some berry with a touch of olive on the backend. Still drinking well. (1490 views)
Tasted by dlduchon on 8/23/2018 & rated 90 points: Decanted and enjoyed this wine. Polished and nice Mourvedre, nuanced and great with a grilled steak. (1488 views)
Tasted by dlduchon on 10/4/2017 & rated 86 points: This has been my favorite inexpensive wine for years and I have had many aged bottles. However the vintages of this era have been overripe, raisiny and unbalanced. I can only blame R Parker. This wine could have been good if picked earlier. I am hoping for a future return to balance in later vintages. (2014 views)
Tasted by MicHtical on 3/11/2017 & rated 89 points: Still very enjoyable and great P/Q (1913 views)
Tasted by Coachron13 on 5/16/2016 & rated 88 points: Pretty darn good for a $15 bottle!!! Would suggest drinking these this year. (2223 views)
Tasted by Ryno the Wino on 3/15/2016: Drink now! (2210 views)
Tasted by Halfeel on 12/20/2015 & rated 89 points: This is pretty good right now. (2288 views)
Tasted by BaylinBoy on 12/16/2015 & rated 89 points: Beautiful garrett and purple hues, cassis and raspberry notes, peppery finish on warm red fruit, liked it. (1882 views)
Tasted by monk1019 on 5/24/2015 & rated 89 points: Rich dark fruits with plum at the onset. Boysenberry and cassis mixed with pepper at the end. Very nice, Cline (1865 views)
Tasted by gbanks on 2/5/2015: Served blind; was easily identifiable by the lovely briary, dirty southern French grape with a very New World level of extraction and heat. I generally like the Cline VV bottlings a lot but this vintage seemed kind of disjointed to me. Gained smoothness with time in the glass though, and after an hour turned out to be pleasant if not super distinctive. (1899 views)
Tasted by monk1019 on 12/17/2014 & rated 87 points: Our second wine of the night... after a luscious Zin. But it was great in its own right! (1798 views)
Tasted by as4beatles on 10/29/2014: Not as good as another Cline but still tasty. (1781 views)
Tasted by Jamar on 6/13/2014 & rated 92 points: Outstanding with grilled pork chops. (2403 views)
Tasted by Deb Deb 58 on 1/2/2014: Delicious. (2633 views)
Tasted by jjou on 9/15/2013 & rated 87 points: Dark red. Plum and berries on the nose, plus something a little herbal. On the palate, plum again, cherry, berries; chocolate and spice in the middle with very present tannins, and a bit (but not a lot) of oak. (3116 views)
Tasted by JoshA on 12/9/2012 & rated 88 points: Fruit (grapes and plums) forward and firm tannins. (4502 views)
Tasted by Evan Dawson on 12/6/2012 & rated 82 points: Contender for oakiest wine ever. Candy-like, with sugar-coated plum, brown sugar, roasted vanilla, and raw wood. Texture is not as thin as some notes suggest; I rather like the mouthfeel. Hard to drink, though. (4439 views)
Tasted by mflesh on 10/28/2012 & rated 86 points: One of many tasted at Debbie and Brad's first wine dinner at Bella Ranch. Bottle decanted for about 20 minutes and then ran through a vinturi when tasting. Uncorked to a purple stain with about 1-2mm of cork bleed. This wine poured rather clear, dark red with some purple hints, thick meniscus. Aromas of plum and black cherry. On the taste was all plum up front, mixed with a little dust and earth, a little pepper with a crescendo to a highly tannic finish. This was a very medium bodied wine, trending towards a full bodied wine, but is a bit disjointed and not very integrated. This wine needs to be enjoyed in 2 years honestly...I just don't think it's ready now. I'm sure it will be closer to 90 when it has reached its drinking point. Hold for now, drink in 1-2 years, done by 2017. (4110 views)
Tasted by Euell Gophar on 10/23/2012 & rated 87 points: Though it might be a bit young, its pedigree is apparent. Great grape with mild tannins. Medium-bodied wine that should age gracefully. (3669 views)
Tasted by lifeattable on 9/14/2012 & rated 78 points: Not good at all. Didnt even finish the bottle. Nose fruity but boring, palate eh, finish incredibly bitter. 77-79pts. (4231 views)
Tasted by CPA_SLP on 8/31/2012 & rated 86 points: Nose- Dark fruit and berries
Taste- Raisin, coffee, and dark chocolate (3003 views)
Tasted by Jamar on 7/26/2012 & rated 90 points: Bold fruit, very full flavor and nice finish. Interesting varietal--supposed to be best in another year or so. Can't wait. (2652 views)
Tasted by topher18 on 4/19/2012 & rated 84 points: Deep dark purple. Currant and plum on the nose with a hint of berry. More earthy than fruity on the palate. Thin texture and a sour finish.

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
