Tasted by AllRed on 12/8/2014 & rated 88 points: Grapefruit, lime zest and grass notes. Palate follows the bouquet adding a melon note on the finish. (1855 views)
Tasted by AllRed on 5/20/2014 & rated 89 points: Grass, grapefruit and jalapeño notes. Bright avidity; rich. (2136 views)
Tasted by ryestraw on 1/11/2014 flawed bottle: This bottle was not good anymore. Passed. (2215 views)
Tasted by AllRed on 9/26/2013 & rated 88 points: Deep straw yellow color with a greenish tint. Dominant notes of lemongrass and flint give way to honeysuckle blossoms, lemon and mineral. Flavors of lemongrass and stone with a subtle jalapeno quality. The acidity is not as bright as one might expect, but it doesn't come off as flabby either. A pleasant quaffer. (2603 views)
Tasted by thelostverse on 8/3/2013 & rated 88 points: Opened by Amy at gourmet III. Would have pegged this as NZ if tasted blind. Grass/grapefruit notes with a short finish. (1518 views)
Tasted by Vino Me on 8/3/2013 & rated 86 points: Opened by Allreds wife. Grassy nose which was very pleasant and reminiscent of a NZSB. Notes of spice, watermelon and clover. Too heavy for my taste. 86 points (2799 views)
Tasted by NineteenEightyTwo on 12/14/2012 & rated 80 points: Ever had Sauvignon Blanc? This is exactly like that. (2138 views)

Tasted by BCharlieG on 8/7/2012 & rated 89 points: Nice wine, pretty standard sauv blanc except for the nearly 15% ABV on this one which seems a little out there for a SB. Good fruit to match the heat though, nice lemon zest, peach, grapefruit. Just a little tiny touch of either malo or barrel toast to give it a touch more depth than other SB. enjoyed but touch unbalanced. (1355 views)
Tasted by tantotinto on 7/9/2012 & rated 88 points: Sweet lemon nose. Lemon, melon and herb flavour with a slight sweet touch on the finish. Smooth texture, medium weight and good acidity. Very pleasant and excellent with this evening's breaded and baked cod. (1261 views)
Tasted by 3daywinereview.com on 6/22/2012 & rated 83 points: Citrus, spice and floral notes on the nose. Palate offers citrus, heavy spices and chalk. A bit too chalky. Not as good as a previous vintages. Pass on this one. (1380 views)

Hall

Producer website
Since first working in her family’s Mendocino vineyards, Kathryn Hall dreamed of a place to showcase fine wines alongside expressive art and masterful architecture. Now, Kathryn and Craig Hall are creating an unrivalled destination
in the Napa Valley—where winemaking excellence meets contemporary design to celebrate life and inspire the senses. In 2005, Craig and Kathryn Hall unveiled a state-of-the-art winery amid the legendary Sacrashe Vineyard in the hills
of Rutherford that is dedicated to making single vineyard and limited-production wines. The Halls acquired the historic Bergfeld winery in St. Helena in 2003, and are merging history and innovation with the completion of California's
First Winery to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Gold Certification.

HALL’s estate vineyards encompass more than five hundred acres of classic Bordeaux varietals; Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blanc.
As winegrowers, the Halls have a strong respect for the environment and a commitment to cutting-edge vineyard technology to yield the highest quality grapes.
Through meticulous attention to detail in the vineyards, HALL wines are able to express the unique and diverse character of Napa Valley’s soils and climate.

Sauvignon Blanc

Varietal Character

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

California

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
