Tasted by drjb on 4/7/2024 & rated 94 points: At Home Dinner. This is a delicious bottle of Dom with considerable richness and grip rather than sheer elegance. There is a lovely mouthful of fruit well balanced by brioche and nuts leading into a fine finish where there was a real sense of grape tannin and matiere rather than acidity. (1743 views)
Tasted by JayP on 3/29/2024 & rated 92 points: Stunning. Drink before about 2028 sheer quality on a glass (1752 views)
Tasted by LIE-user on 3/28/2024 & rated 95 points: Great nose, very rich. After that, this richness fills your mouth with loads of sensations. Rather dark, but very precise. It lasts and lasts.
Has reached its prime drinking window. An appropriate compensation for a rather weak meeting with a DP 2002 I had some weeks ago. (1845 views)
Tasted by palfr2 on 3/21/2024: At restaurant in Tokyo. Reductive in style and higher dosage....though nicely judged and on the right side of sweet. Goes down so easily as opening wine that it does not get the deserved attention. A nice drop and an OK price for quality if you can forget they supply millions in the market every year. (2298 views)
Tasted by atbarbar on 3/17/2024 & rated 92 points: Oysters typical of mature Dom nose. Some lemon and burnt sugar. Light white flowers and acacia honey, lots of butter, fried butter with hazelnuts. Somewhat sweet, drinks like a puligny with bubbles. This wine, from a not so great vintage is ready to drink. Also the color is already intense yellow. I would not hold on to it for much longer. (2138 views)
Tasted by AAJR on 3/8/2024 & rated 94 points: Brioche, citrus, green apple. New house celebration (2331 views)
Tasted by Bandreas on 2/14/2024: Tasted with Cahill's during our good-bye dinner. bottle came from Jim Cahill...
This one was glorious, dark golden color, smoothly creamy with brioche on the nose. Wonderfully settled and complex.
A delight. The WOTN for me.
It showed how older champagnes can develop into absolute marvels; a pity that most are gulped down way too young. (3229 views)
Tasted by wihong on 2/10/2024 & rated 87 points: Straw yellow. Perfume, floral and feminine aroma with gentle citrus. Highly alcoholic and grape fruity palate entry, followed by juicy muscat grape and pips mid-palate. Medium long finish with sweet caramel and hazelnut. Light body for a Dom Pérignon compared to '02, '04, '08 opened the same night. Lacks complexity and seems to be peaking now. (2938 views)
Tasted by gg101 on 1/2/2024 & rated 90 points: Brioche and hazelnut with a deep golden color -- this bottle showed some oxidation, and the bubbles are fading a bit. I typically really enjoy Dom, but this felt a bit disjointed relative to other 2006s and surrounding vintages. Perhaps not a great bottle or a storage issue, or maybe it's past my aging preference for this type of champagne. (4150 views)
Tasted by zanksta on 12/31/2023: This was the third and probably best bottle of 06 Dom from the cellar. Graceful, fruity, yeasty. Very good champagne. (3793 views)
Tasted by jfpwine on 12/25/2023 & rated 93 points: Always a treat. Deep gold color. Tiny bubbles. Lemon peel, hazelnut, brioche. Full body with a creamy texture while still showing citrus fruit. Great balance and complexity with a very long finish. This is showing very well right now. (3694 views)
Tasted by Winedog1 on 12/22/2023 & rated 95 points: Celebratory pairing. Interesting that of my three bottles of this vintage, the first two were part of special lineups. 1) Glenfiddich 23 Year Old Grand Cru 2) 2006 Dom Perignon Champagne 3) 2020 Tenuta San Guido Sassiccaia 4) 1969 Weingut Muller Privat Rheinriesling Spatlese. A selection picked for each person. The Champagne was excellent. Green apple. Lemon. Maybe some rosemary? Small bubbles. (3131 views)
Tasted by Yohansmas on 11/21/2023:

(4654 views)
Tasted by danielbleier on 11/18/2023 & rated 94 points: Lovely, brioche and dried peach...creamy in texture with a round, full profile. (3687 views)
Tasted by WST on 10/13/2023: A Charity event plus two days of birthday celebration; a memorable three day weekend.; 10/13/2023-10/15/2023 (Samish Hill, Bellingham, WA): Served with Astrea Grand Selection Oscietra caviar. Five years ago, this wine was dull and utterly shut down. Bottle time has been kind. It is a gorgeous bottle, dense and long, with more brioche and less reduction than typical. We loved it. It’s a great DP for current consumption. (5177 views)
Tasted by Sean Tay on 9/30/2023 & rated 96 points: Burgundy Grand Cru with either first or last name with initial A, B, F, G, H, R and T: Pronounced nose intensity with notes of toast, bread, yeasty, lemon, almond. High acidity. Drinking at its peak. My 7th bottle with consistent notes and score. (5027 views)
Tasted by victorpb on 9/29/2023 & rated 94 points: In a good place right now and will likely not improve much. Baked notes of brioche and lemon tarte. Decent acidity. (4705 views)
Tasted by Mbad77 on 9/23/2023 & rated 93 points: Feel this has more to give . Nose and palate a touch restrained. Very fresh still and very drinkable (4071 views)
Tasted by Rick & Ilsa on 9/19/2023 & rated 93 points: Finally going to catch up on my tasting notes and inventory after many months of a somewhat self imposed hiatus, a mistake I will not make again.

TN. A previous personal favorite vintage of DP, this bottle didn't show as well as others. Typical nose of lemon, citrus, brioche and yeast, this also had a dull, maybe reductive note. The reduction continued on the palate with the wine showing noticeably duller than other bottles. The wine wasn't bad by any means, just not showing as much crisp acidity and that usual "flintiness" that I associate with Dom. It did improve with time in bottle and glass, as well as warming up a bit. Perhaps it just needed some air, but will now wait a few years before trying another bottle. Tasted June '23 (4279 views)
Tasted by mclanew on 9/16/2023 & rated 94 points: Haven’t had one of these in a while. Popped and poured. Still in great shape. Not as focused or as detailed as other Dom vintages but still delicious and compelling. (3627 views)
Tasted by Sotto325 on 7/17/2023 & rated 93 points: A very nice balance and sophisticated structure. Medium yellow hue with a nose expressing initially more lemon and a hint of brioche. As it developed in the glass, both the aroma and palate opened to a yeastier, richer combination of flavors : toast, acid-backed lemon, a slightly forward earthy aspect. Not yet as exciting as it will be as more complexity emerges (5351 views)
Tasted by lozatron on 7/16/2023: Champagne Cornucopia - DP vs Krug MV (Chez D): Both wines of this flight were a step up. Really nicely put together - more structure than the 05, but not spiky like the 08. My wine of the flight, third wine of the lunch. (4976 views)
Tasted by godx on 7/5/2023: Drank alongside the 2004. Seems unevolved and a bit simple beside the 2004 which is starting it hit its stride now. I think this needs time to show its stuff. (4782 views)
Tasted by NoTrollingerPlease on 7/4/2023 & rated 91 points: Vacation wines; 6/27/2023-7/6/2023 (Hotel Sonne, Partschins, IT): Glass: Spiegelau Universal
Popped and poured. Clear, light golden color. Nice, smoky nose. On the palate as expected: Round and balanced, but also almost a bit flabby and not very deep. Botrytis feeling, lacks tension and pressure to be really great. 2006 will perhaps never be my favorite DP vintage. 91-92 (4936 views)
Tasted by Sean Tay on 6/28/2023 & rated 96 points: This is my sixth bottle spanning from 2017. The last being in 2021 which i give similar points and tasting notes. We have an assortment of Champange to try, and I thought it will be interesting to blind Dom into the equation as some of my friends are skeptical on big houses production. Personally, I never had a bad bottle of Dom and it’s always consistent. It a personally preference. When tasted blind and without prejudice, it turns out most friends actually find it a really well made Champange. Will still improve but not by a big margin. Only just started on its drinking window. 2006 Dom Pérignon Champagne

Varietal for Moët & Chandon Cuvée Dom Pérignon is Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Why use a generic "Champagne Blend"...

Champagne Blend

"Champagne blend" is a classic grape blend that typically includes Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and/or Pinot Meunier in any proportions.

However, this blend can also include Arbane, Fromenteau (Pinot Gris), Petit Meslier and/or Pinot Blanc as well.

France - When it comes to wine, France stands alone. No other country can beat it in terms of consistent quality and diversity. And while many of its Region, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne most obviously, produce wine as rare, as sought-after and nearly as expensive as gold, there are just as many obscurities and values to be had from little known appellations throughout the country. To learn everything there is to know about French wine would take a lifetime. To understand and appreciate French wine, one only has to begin tasting them. Click for a list of bestselling items from all of France.
Sub-Region:

Champagne - The French region of Champagne (including the cities of Rheims, Épernay, and Aÿ) was the first region in the world to make sparkling wine in any quantity. Today, the name of the region is synonymous with the finest of all sparkling wines, and wine-making traditions of Champagne have become role models for sparkling wine producers, worldwide. Surprisingly, the region of Champagne is now responsible for only one bottle in 12 of all sparkling wine produced. Styles of champagne range in sweetness ranging from an extra brut or brut 0, to the basic brut to demi sec to doux; some houses produce single vintage champagnes and others produce non-vintage (or incorporate wines/grapes of multiple vintages), often to preserve a specific taste; combinations of grape varietals; and colors, including a rosé. There are several sub-appellations, including the Valley of the Marnes river running from Épernay west, Massif de Saint-Thierry north and west of Rheims, Valley of the Ardre, the Mountains of Rheims (between Rheims and Épernay), Côte des Blancs, Côte de Sézanne, and Côte des Bar in the South. Champagne wine only uses three grape varietals (cépages): Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.
