Tasted by fc1910 on 4/14/2018 & rated 94 points: Riesling SWAG (Restaurant Vlet, Hometown, Hamburg): This is the only point I really disliked about this event, there were too many brought bottles to share for the crowd and thats why this evening got a little mixed up and rally like,
later that night I searched for a bottle of mine and the walkable climat chamber had still a number of opened but not served bottles,
found this one of mine and made the round, a Riesling revelation, a mixture of a classic dry Pfalz GG and one from Rheinhessen or Nahe, rich deep fruit, young and refreshing, opened about 5 hours before, limy stonefruit, very well structured, ending with great salinity demanding long, the estate of Pfeffingen is among the best from the Pfalz, maybe lacking some reputation, enjoy now and over the next 5+ years, ***(*-*****), 93- 95+ potential (1083 views)
Tasted by Kirk Grant on 5/13/2010 & rated 92 points: Color: Light golden yellow

Smell: Nectarines, peach, lemon, lime, and quince

Taste: A melange of different citrus fruits followed by a long drawn out peach and nectarine note along a medium length finish.

Overall: This was not as dry as I expected. While it was dry I think it deserves more of a Halbtrocken designation. With that much said this wine was absolutely lovely. There was brisk acidity, lush fruit, and just a beautiful mouthfeel along a medium-long finish. All in all a wonderful wine that I wish I had more of. (1653 views)

#2014 Vintage Notes:
2014 Vintage Report by Terry Theise
2014 Vintage Report by Wine Spectator
"My gut still tells me the Saar (and to some extent) the Ruwer are better overall in 2014 than the more storied areas of the Mosel proper, but those that spent the requisite time living in their middle-Mosel vineyards made some of the most electric and "feathery" Riesling in a long time (maybe the finest in 20 years - yes, it's true!)" - Jon Rimmerman (Of course only a very short historical memory would call the Saar and Ruwer less 'storied' than the middle Mosel - jht)
