Community Tasting History

Community Tasting Notes (average 90 pts. and median of 90 pts. in 6 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by fc1910 on 3/26/2020 & rated 89 points: An afternoon on the terraces, high ABV 13,5% for a dry Riesling, caramel, silky and creamy ripe stonefruit flow, right after pnp a little unbalanced, but with some slow ox a well structured showing, a little too much alcohol driven if getting warm in the glass, keep this wine cool and you get a good+ mouthfull of mature Riesling! **-***, around 88-90 (994 views)
Tasted by Harley1199 on 3/12/2016: Riesling Blitzkrieg by FC1910; 3/11/2016-3/12/2016 (Teatro Campos Elíseos - Bilbao): Nose off perhaps some citrus notes and very young in the mouth. We have to wait. Hope so

Apagada en nariz quizás alguna nota cítrica y muy joven en boca. Hay que esperar. (1835 views)
Tasted by fc1910 on 8/10/2014 & rated 91 points: A Großes Gewächs summernight: very mineralic nose, still acid driven, still young appearance on the palate, some bell pepper flavours, fine intense elegance, I do really like this bottle, in this showing the wine needs at least 3+ years more in the cellar, *(***), 90- 92+? (1229 views)
Tasted by Acohen on 10/20/2013 & rated 89 points: Dry and crisp Trocken with good mouthfeel, lime and slight citrus elements (1171 views)
Tasted by fc1910 on 7/13/2013 & rated 91 points: this is one of my GG- favourites: chalk on the palate, mineralic driven, some exotic fruits, still young and a lot of acidity, vibrating, concentrated body but elegant swallowing, improved in a big glass over some hours, very good with seafood and lamb too, long+ aftertaste, really stunning bottle, 89- 92+ (1719 views)
Tasted by burgburgburg on 12/29/2010 & rated 90 points: fine lime, petrol and floral aroma; although it's a trocken Riesling, we can still sense a little bit of sweet; very smooth and medium body; nice but not strong acidity; palate and aftertaste were not complex but it's a fine trocken (1690 views)

#2014 Vintage Notes:
2014 Vintage Report by Terry Theise
2014 Vintage Report by Wine Spectator
"My gut still tells me the Saar (and to some extent) the Ruwer are better overall in 2014 than the more storied areas of the Mosel proper, but those that spent the requisite time living in their middle-Mosel vineyards made some of the most electric and "feathery" Riesling in a long time (maybe the finest in 20 years - yes, it's true!)" - Jon Rimmerman (Of course only a very short historical memory would call the Saar and Ruwer less 'storied' than the middle Mosel - jht)
