Tasted by kennyd on 6/20/2020 & rated 94 points: We purchased this at Paradigm when we visited in January 2015. It was the first time our daughter had been to Napa. We had not opened any of our bottles until this one. Over eight years out from harvest, and yet WOW this was so big and red fruity (it still had the savory flavors that often come with a cab franc). Lovely floral perfumed smell on opening. Fairly deep crimson that was beautifully deep and clear in appearance. A really good cabernet franc can be almost a feminine version of a cabernet sauvignon, and I love that. This is a great example of a really good cab franc. Thank you to Ms. Barrett and the rest of the team at Paradigm. (981 views)
Tasted by JCGuthrie on 1/26/2020 & rated 93 points: Opened about an hour before dinner but did not decant. Nice red fruit, smooth tannins. Not sure I could have picked varietal if tasted blind, but the signature cab franc notes were there if you looked for them. At peak, but I suspect it will hold another few years. (1023 views)
Tasted by EFrohmader on 12/7/2018 & rated 89 points: Cassis, plum, tobacco, something barnyardy. Medium-plus body. Medium acidity. Medium-long finish. Not sure if its on the decline or if this was just an off bottle. (1098 views)
Tasted by EFrohmader on 11/17/2018 & rated 91 points: Black cherry, plum, lilac, dried herbs, forest floor. Medium-plus body. Medium acidity. Integrated tannins. Medium-long finish. Drink now - it’s at peak. (1081 views)
Tasted by EFrohmader on 9/22/2018 & rated 91 points: Violets, blackberry, black pepper, something a little funky. Medium-plus body. Medium-light tannins. At peak. (1064 views)
Tasted by EFrohmader on 12/13/2016 & rated 92 points: Consistent with previous note. Ready to drink but fine to hold as well. (1412 views)
Tasted by EFrohmader on 11/13/2016 & rated 91 points: Accessed via Coravin. Decanted 3 hours and consumed over the next 4. Deep, ruby red. Cassis, raspberry, cigar box, black pepper, and dried herbs. Medium-full bodied. Medium-plus acidity. Medium, incorporated tannins. Good now, but the last glass was the best, so I could see this improving as well. Went well with a NY strip roast. (1262 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
