Community Tasting Notes (average 86.8 pts. and median of 87 pts. in 6 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by joseph120 on 9/7/2017: Light body, cherry flavored, with some barnyard earthiness thrown in, with moderate acidity. Not bad, but not my style (don't like the acidity). (1820 views)
Tasted by Zuperdaave on 7/14/2017 & rated 85 points: Very good. Purple with no real legs to speak of. Moss on the nose. Mellow cherry flavor with some spice. Was very tight out of the bottle but opened up over a few hours. (1851 views)
Tasted by rahul_d_chatter@yahoo.com on 7/3/2017 & rated 85 points: What James Suckling saw in this wine to award it 93 pts is lost on me. It is a decent wine for the price, but nowhere good enough to deserve inclusion in the 90+ ot range. With notes of leather, tobacco, soil, and berries, it is a decent wine. It is very dry, angular, and not very pleasing. If the high rating had not created this huge expectation in me, I may not have been so let down. (1877 views)
Tasted by Tim & Kathy on 7/2/2017 & rated 87 points: Aromas of violets, berries, and leather. Tastes of cherries and plums with a tart berry finish. Smooth tannins.

Tasted by RussK on 3/7/2017 & rated 89 points: Russk. Suckling great wines of Italy tasting at the Moore building. (2043 views)

Aglianico

Varietal character (Appellation America)

The Southern Italy Outpost (on the CellartTracker Forum)

Originally from Greece and an early Roman favorite, Aglianico was planted as early as the seventh century B.C. Infused with interesting aromas of plums, raisins and licorice. Dried floral notes flow easily into the medium to full-bodied palate of black pepper, smooth, subtle cherry, and plum flavors.. A stylish, intriguing young red, with fine tannins and a ripe balanced finish.
