Tasted by manemis on 3/29/2024 & rated 92 points: Pale yellow. Reductive, lemon, wet stone, saline, subtle butter/popcorn. Citrus, medium body. Medium length. Great wine! (463 views)
Tasted by fcxj on 1/16/2024 & rated 92 points: Well executed reduction. Nice and tense. (909 views)
Tasted by joshabramson on 10/17/2023 & rated 95 points: This is really great! Lovely balance, with rich fruit and sharp acidity. Elegant and bright wine, this bottle totally delivers. (944 views)
Tasted by sergio19 on 7/28/2023 & rated 96 points: Generous wine, floral, with ginger's notes in the nose. Also notes of iodine and lemon, dried fruit. In the mouth is full, with a slight hazelnut, a very fine savouriness. At the nose returns chalk and iodine notes.
Beautiful and elegant acidity, perfect mineral tension. Very impressione like a grand cru. (981 views)
Tasted by GArpaia on 12/17/2022: VV.
Pale lemon. Pronounced. Blossom. Ripe citrus, apple. Crisp stone fruit. Lemon curd, pastry, cream. Wood and toasted notes. Complex. There is tension and precision in an ample profile. Balanced.
High acidity, med body. Some phenolic grip. Long and zingy finish. Outstanding.

NB:
Size: 1.25 ha (3.09 ac)
Vine Age: Planted in 1964
Terroir: In the valley between St.-Aubin and Puligny, middle to top of a steep (40% grade) hill, facing south/southwest, shallow soil on hard limestone bedrock.
Viticulture: Lutte raisonnée
Vinification: Gentle pressing, light settling, fermentation and aged for 12 months in 300L and 600L barrels, followed by 6-12 months blending in tank. (1209 views)
Tasted by Bob H on 7/25/2022: This is more notably reductive on the nose than the 2017 Lamy DCE I just tried, but still pretty tasty. More structured on the palate, but this wine is not too young to be enjoyed at this time. Like the DCE, a wine that is lighter-bodied but packs a serious punch in the glass. Impressive. (1461 views)
Tasted by Alex G. on 6/19/2022: Electric tension and serious power on the attack. Long juicy finish with rocky mineral lingering for minutes. Strikes me as youthful but so enticing now I doubt any bottles will live to the next stage of maturity. Wish I had 5 cases, this is killer. (1324 views)
Tasted by blacktruffle on 12/28/2021 & rated 93 points: Ripe citrus, apples, and oyster shells on the nose. Lots of acidity. This has so much oyster shell, rocky minerality, and dried honey notes that I would have guessed Chablis blind. This is Lamy's most approachable St Aubin with the impression of highest residual sugar. There is a lot going on in this wine. It will be long-lived. (1502 views)
Tasted by Tony Ling on 5/24/2021 & rated 94 points: PNP into wide bottom red wine glass (“Root” day): Medium lemon to the eyes.

Minerality that resembles dried shrimps, citrus fruits with elegant white spices.

Very enjoyable on palate. More minerality with some age.

94 points. (1471 views)
Tasted by BenBlu on 2/11/2021 & rated 91 points: Day 1-2 this was smoky, beacon notes emerge, really dense. If served in a black glass you could have mistaken this for a Northern Rhone (!). Day 3 this lifted and the wine was more floral and pretty and still going strong. This will be a long ager but even today it is interesting and educational to try. Definitely very well made. 91 now with upside. (1787 views)
Tasted by murkybird on 11/1/2020 & rated 91 points: Light and bright with lemon and unripe pear. Something vaguely herbal. Delicate and refreshing. Sealed with Diam 30 (872 views)
Tasted by GArpaia on 11/1/2020: Medium lemon. Intense nose. High acidity. Yellow flowers, crisp apricots and yellow peaches. Mineral and precise. Secondary aromas of cream, yeast and vanilla. Complex with long citrussy and green apple finish.

Btb with 2016 (1461 views)
Tasted by csimm on 8/14/2020 & rated 94 points: A great combination of zip and lively concentration. Lemon juice and pith, yuzu, white peach, unripe pear, and white rock. The VV aspect seems to help with the experience of depth. Refreshing and flavorful. 93-94 points.

Much more comparative oomph here than Lamy’s more linear and high register Frionnes. (3850 views)
Tasted by Sleepy Dave on 6/6/2020: Zoom Conference with Olivier Lamy.

Dominated by reduction in the first 60mins. According to Olivier this vineyard retains good afternoon sun hence warm day but fresh at night.

On Zalto Omega Gravitas. Vigorous swirling and the reduction starts to blow away and revealing nice ginger spice, curry leaves aromas, ripe lemony fruits and touch of lime zest and pink grapefruits. Nice citrus entry with a little sharp acidity, but quickly rounded up by riper fruits, intense salinity and touch of spiciness. Good backbone, excellent intensity, freshness and juiciness. Decent length. Interesting that the wine shows nuttiness as it gets warmer in the glass. This show the ripe and rounded profile of the vineyard. Everytime I had wine from Olivier Lamy, I always get this linearity and focus be it in warmer year (more fruits) or cooler year (more precision).

On Gabriel: less high tone on spices, slightly sweeter. Very nice balance on the palate but very powerful chalkiness at the back.

On Zalto Uni: focus on spices, very focus. Laser sharp on the palate with tons of salinity and little nuttiness at the end. (638 views)
Tasted by kingkanu on 6/5/2020: Great White Burgundy: 6 of the Very best 1er Crus with Jasper Morris (67@Home Zoom Tasting): Some reduction still showing in the nose, but the fruit is starting to emerge. More towards limes and apple fruit here, the palate is bursting with energy and acidity, pretty exciting stuff and would be fascinating to see how this ages (1350 views)
Tasted by NickA on 6/5/2020 & rated 91 points: Outstanding white Burgundy: 6 of the very best 1er Crus with Jasper Morris MW (Zoom!): Lamy is one of the earliest pickers. Chateniere gets the morning and evening sunshine, but protected from the midday sun. Very elegant and lifted on the nose despite the reduction. Radox herbs. Concentrated and vertical on the palate, with a sharp line of mouthwatering lime cordial acidity, and green apple on the finish. (1561 views)
Tasted by Jeremy Holmes on 1/17/2020: Vine age is 65 years here. Complex aromatics of smoky mineral, limestone, preserved lemon and toast. It is ripe, rich, unctuous and very long. (872 views)
Tasted by rossi.wine on 1/7/2019 & rated 91 points: Nice fruit, quite generous, a little creamy and floral on the nose. On the palate ripe with good weight, hints of honey, great acidity, and balance. Very good, mineral finish. 90-91+ (1949 views)
Tasted by Jeremy Holmes on 9/18/2018: There’s so much potential here. It has such great intensity with unctuous orchard fruits shrink wrapped hard against a mineral spine. It is chewy, chalky, rich and long. (1323 views)

Burgundy

Les vins de Bourgogne (Bureau interprofessionnel des vins de Bourgogne) (and in English)

Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.

# 2013 Vintage Notes:
* "2013 is a vintage that 20 years ago would have been a disaster." - Will Lyons
* "low yields and highly variable reds, much better whites." - Bill Nanson
* "Virtually all wines were chaptalised, with a bit of sugar added before fermentation to increase the final alcohol level." - Jancis Robinson

# 2014 Vintage Notes:
"We have not had such splendid harvest weather for many years. This will ensure high quality (fragrant, classy and succulent are words already being used) across the board, up and down the hierarchy and well as consistently from south to north geographically apart from those vineyards ravaged by the hail at the end of June." - Clive Coates

# 2015 Vintage Notes:
"Low yields and warm weather allowed for ample ripeness, small berries and an early harvest. Quality is looking extremely fine, with some people whispering comparisons with the outstanding 2005 vintage. Acid levels in individual wines may be crucial." - Jancis Robinson

# 2017 Vintage Notes:
"Chablis suffered greatly from frost in 2017, resulting in very reduced volumes. As ever, the irony seems to be that what remains is very good quality, as it is in the Côte d’Or. Cooler nights across the region have resulted in higher-than-usual acidity, with good conditions throughout the harvest season allowing for ripe, healthy fruit." - Jancis Robinson

# 2018 Vintage Notes:
"The most successful region for red Burgundy in 2018 was the Côte de Beaune. The weather was ideal in this area, with just enough sunlight and rain to produce perfectly balanced wines naturally." - Vinfolio
