Tasted by Lawino7 on 2/2/2024 & rated 92 points: Deep garnet color. Nose of luscious berries and graphite in a luxurious way! Moderately perfect viscosity. Still a bit tight, could rest for a few more years yet very enjoyable now. With grilled tri tip steak was terrific! And OMG, with salted caramels! Enough said! (223 views)
Tasted by cjwang413 on 10/23/2023: Fresh dark berries, dusty tannins, focused not jammy for a big wine, initially floral when opened giving way to red berries, Avery gets cranberries like from school. Shorter finish. (365 views)
Tasted by silbakor on 9/17/2023 & rated 88 points: Brief decant.
Very spice forward nose, relatively subtle fruit. Lots of pencil shavings and leather and bitter tea. Drying on the palate, still some chalky tannin. Short finish. Fruits are mostly tart blackberry and cranberry, with hints of plum. (373 views)
Tasted by Dine&Vine on 8/1/2023 & rated 92 points: Hitting all cylinders, ditto notes from last month. Drinking beautifully now. (445 views)
Tasted by Dine&Vine on 7/9/2023 & rated 92 points: Smokin good zin! Delicious spicy raspberry fruit o’love. No excessive heat found, just a tasty Turley zin that exceeded expectations. Yum! (424 views)
Tasted by Tutterers on 5/28/2023 & rated 91 points: Turl'Morial Day (393 views)
Tasted by jdjjadair on 12/26/2022 & rated 90 points: Ripe, deep blackberry as expected from Turley. A classic Turley Zin, has been one of our favorites over the years and this one did not disappoint. Decanted for 3 hrs. Tannins we’re well balanced, finish was long and ultimately developed some subtle earth notes. There are probably two to three years left but it is drinking well now so no need to wait IMO.  Tasted by cstir on 12/14/2022 & rated 91 points: full flavored with dark red fruit; nice complexity and depth (510 views)
Tasted by CT Stan Wine on 7/3/2022 & rated 90 points: Needs more time (696 views)
Tasted by Kcornett on 2/22/2022 & rated 91 points: Nice depth. Balanced but on the more fruit forward jam side of Zin. But not too much. Light tannins and acidity. (884 views)
Tasted by Salute on 2/4/2022 & rated 92 points: Wow. Nice improvement from a year ago.
Beautiful nose. Full rich soft mellow on the palate.
Notes of cola and black tea, moderate tannins, acidity very mellow.
Wow. Great zin.
Decanted, no sediment. Great right out of the bottle, even better with just a bit of air. (825 views)
Tasted by losososjoe on 9/22/2021 & rated 92 points: Ready to go. just pull the cork and drink it. (1156 views)
Tasted by Ralansum on 9/4/2021 & rated 93 points: Robert Parker rated 93. Another fantastic Zinfandel from Turley. First tast out of the bottle was great and after decanting for an hour it’s spectacular. Great fruit notes with spice. Well balanced. Moderate tannins. Nice Finnish! (1093 views)
Tasted by Wine_Poobah on 4/10/2021 & rated 93 points: Sweet, juicy black fruit aroma, notes of blackberry, strawberry, cherry, and vanilla and a slight hint of alcohol. Very complex aroma. Rich, sweet, spicy red and black fruit flavors with an apricot finish. Some underlying notes of dirt / forest floor and brambles. Long, rich finish with a slight alcohol burn. Lots of alcohol, tannins, and acidity — it’s in balance, there is just a lot of everything. Nice texture. Intense, full bodied, rich.

Hold. I thought this was better with a slight chill. (1491 views)
Tasted by cultdrinker on 2/5/2021 & rated 92 points: Perfumy and juicy in the nose, with pronounced scents of citrus fruits. You get to the doors of paradise just smelling the wine, while wondering how it will taste on the palate. The taste then brings forth added memories of chocolate and mint and tea. Well balanced and not overpowering. Not as fruity as its sister Old Vines but distinct in its own rite. And its finish will not disappoint. Not so sure though that this wine lives up to its Salvador ancestors that I have previously commented upon. (1340 views)
Tasted by Chefcar on 11/26/2020 & rated 88 points: This is still young - bright, with lots of acidity that overpower the fruits. Nice light peppery finish. Am guessing it will be better in a couple years. (1485 views)
Tasted by Brhouts on 10/25/2020 & rated 92 points: Excellent drinkable zin (1468 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
