France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny
Nice nose of red berries, spice and smoked ham. Smooth entry, dark red fruit on the midpalate, nice acidity and light tannins on the finish. Very nice, a bit simple but pleasurable.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny
Nose is just ok, cherries and a hint of greenness. Bright, fresh red berry fruit on the palate, low acidity, great texture. Not complex but quite tasty. Drinking well now.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin
Smoky, gamey nose, quite interesting. Some of that carries over to the palate, which is complex and balanced. Red fruit is supported by great structure, acidity giving way to tannins on the back end. Long finish. This is delicious and seems likely to improve over the next 5 years.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
Muted nose, some earth. Not much on the attack, then a rush of minerality and tannins. Not a lot of fruit or deliciousness. Hard to imagine this will improve much either.
