nose: really ripe cherry, bit of licorice, some metal, but mostly very obvious and young cherries palate: more silken than the previous wine (2004 barbaresco) with fuller body and tea elements to the palate, the ripe cherry was the most obvious descriptor overall. This definitely seemed to eveolve in the glass over the course of the evening. Good buy.
STRAWBERRY. Much more fruity than any other wine on the table, actually a little boring too. Did nto appear to change much over time, seemed to appear mostly as a one-trick pony. Overly simple, I don't see this improving much, sadly. But I would try again with 3 years or so on a bottle.
nose: more metal (some say iodine) in character than all the other wines, this bottle could be said to scream "Italy" from the glass. palate: along with iodine/metal, the roses really completed the Barolo experience for me. Definitely one of the 2000 Barolos in the blind tasting. Integrated tannin, longest finish of the bunch...my WOTN. Drinking very, very nicely right now.
nose: a bit stinky, there might have been something off about this bottle. Not corked, though. The nose was reminiscent of stinky tar, but with herbs too. The palate was silky smooth and quite lovely. Would have been an excellent bottle minus the stink. unrated.

fat in the mouth, and both floral and fruity. some mineral. Excellent with food.
