Special Thanks to Matt for making this offline possible.

  • NV Blason de Bourgogne Crémant de Bourgogne Cuvée Brut 88 Points

    France, Burgundy, Crémant de Bourgogne

Some green apple, sour, very crispy, smokey & toasty with a medium finish. It does get fruitier and taste of pears overtime. A solid bubbly.

  • 2005 Louis Jadot Meursault 1er Cru Blagny 90 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru

Honeysuckle on the nose, and the golden color makes you wonder if it is really a Sauternes. Flavors were full frontal , a little hollow in the middle, with any oaky finish. Initially it lacked the fruits but candied melon and sweetness did came through after some exposure to air. This wonderful burgundy can age 5-7 years despite the mature color.

  • 2006 Louis Jadot Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Couchereaux Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot 90 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Beaune 1er Cru

Crimson orange color, beautiful color. Nose of tart cherries, taste same as the nose. Overall medium high acidity, slightly tannic and good balance. Need at least 3 years in the cellar. after 60 minutes in the glass the wine starts to really weld together, this can potentially improve for 10 years. This was a splendid experience in Red Burg. 90+

  • 2006 Château de Beaucastel Côtes du Rhône Coudoulet de Beaucastel 90 Points

France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Côtes du Rhône

Ruby color, coffee and dark fruits on the palate. Very creamy mid palate with medium acidity. The finish was dry and somewhat rough. After a while there also a hint of minerality, and some sea salt and freshness I usually found in white wines. Great overall, will pick up some 07 in LWS.

  • 2001 Château Pontet-Canet 93 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

This was without doubt the red WOTN for everyone. However, my WOTN was the 07 Doisy Vedrines. On to the notes: cassis, spices, blackberry, licorice, leather texture, dry finish, and well hidden acidity. Rich but very elegant on the palate. Felt like a St Julien wine more than Pauillac. Also it was versatile with food pairings. 92-94 points.

  • 2000 Les Forts de Latour 92 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

Pitch black color on the glass, purple rim, licorice, red cherry on the palate with some spices. It can be summarized as a black core of bitterness, density and some strong pauillac grip on the mid palate. This is a baby that needs more time to integrate, currently awkward; but not sure if it will ever come together.

  • 2007 Château Doisy-Védrines 95 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes

WOTN for me. Light on the palate just like the pale color suggest, but the intensity was overwhelming. The honey melon, apricot and the freshness was just amazing. The harmony between fruits and acidity was perfect, and the sweetness is just right. Can age on balance for 2 decades but it is very tasty today already. Drink whenever.

  • 2007 Château Guiraud 93 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes

Golden color, stronger, fatter and a broader array of flavors than the Doisy Vedrines. More tropical fruits, good botrytis and ripeness. However, there was also a strange bitterness near the finish that prevents the complete enjoyment of this wine. If this bitterness does not persist in the future then it will definitely Triumph over the Doisy Vedrines in 5-10 years, but based on various ratings I doubt it. score 93+?
