DXB -> HIA. Clear, medkium golden, fine mm-mousse. Medium savoury nose, brioche, dried cherries, lemon, green apples and definetely some roasted nut character (almonds). Dry, high acidity, aromas of yellow fruits, lemon, mineral. Medium body and ditto finish, focussed and well balanced. Silky soft persistent mousse that lifts the wine off the palate. Great apero!

  • 2000 Château Léoville Poyferré 88 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien

DXB -> HIA. Clear, medium ruby, slow moving. Medium (-) complex nose of black fruits, cooked fruit, black pepper, eucalyptus, toffee. Dry, medium (+) acidity, high in ripe tannins, aromas of cherries, cedar, eucalyptus, little smoked meat, reasonably complex yet not overwhelming. Medium body with glycerine texture (the wine does not melt on the palate). Well balanced and elegant with medium (+) finish, despite the acidity leaves sweet aftertaste. Elegant yes, but fails to make a real impression. Is this an example of the Bordeaux-austerity or is the wine in a sleep phase when the fruit aromas are in decline and the structure and tertiary flavours are not developed yet? Wait.
