Tasting at Union Square Wines with Isabel Ferrando. Paired with great cheese and meats from Murray's. Great night, she was very nice and informative! Honestly, an outstanding portfolio and I assume it can only get better. Really loved the Colombis - pure Grenache....

80% Claret (?) and 20% Roussanne. Green apple everywhere! Good minerality and acidity. Smooth. Needs time for sure. Solid, a bit pricey.

One of my favorites of the night. 100% grenache. Strawberry bursting on the nose. Floral. Pinot like, soft, feminine. Strawberry jam. Young, a touch bitter at the end.

80% Grenache, 15% Cinsault, 5% Mourvèdre. Very low yields, cement vats. Strawberry and earthy nose. Tannic and tight right now. Needs a lot of time to integrate and calm down a bit.

60% Grenache, 40% Mouvedre. Floral, sweet nose. Cherry, good red fruits. Powerful wine, tannic, needs time. Good minerality. Very nice.

100% Grenache. Nose was more closed down than the 2009. Dark, meaty flavors, chocolate. Not as feminine as the '09, which I actually preferred. Very nice and lots of life left.

One of the better bottles of the tasting. 60/40 Grenache / Mouvedre. Ferrando's first wine. Strawberry, chocolate, spice. Kept going back. Very very nice.
