Fairly simplistic nose of bruised apples, caramel, with minor notes of lemon and autolytic components of yeast and bread dough. Made in a slightly oxidized style. On the palate, baked apples, burnt sugar. Very round texture in the mouth, lacking a nice crisp backbone of acidity. Finish is of moderate length. This went downhill within the first 30 minutes of pouring.
Popped and poured. Nose of lightly bruised green apples, bread dough, yeast, crushed stones, lemon zest and a mild nutty note. On the palate, green apples, nice minerality. Very crisp acidity and a touch of bitterness frame the lengthy finish.

Popped and poured. Intoxicating nose of red cherries, pomegranate, earth, minerality, ginger and baking spices. On the palate, tart red cherries, earth, spice and wet stones. Strong acidity, and some chalky tannin on the short finish. The nose on this wine was absolutely beautiful, and it was a shame that it didn't measure up on the palate. This had faded significantly in the glass by around the 20 minute mark.

Decanted for approximately 1 hour prior to consumption and followed for the next 1.5 hours. Incredibly complex nose of dark fruits, cassis, earth, smoke, creosote, cedar, green tobacco, leather, chocolate, olive and with further time in the glass, huge truffle, mushroom and undergrowth notes emerged. On the palate, equally complex, showing dark fruits, cassis, truffle, leather and earth. Nice length on the finish, with higher than medium acidity, and fine grained tannin. There was a touch of heat on the palate upon pouring, but that dissipated quickly. Still improving up to the last glass. Head and shoulders above the other wines tonight. Absolutely beautiful showing.

Decanted for approximately 1 hour prior to consumption, followed over the next 2 hours. After being decanted for sediment by the wait staff, I went over and smelled this and was surprised at how advanced it smelled; tons of leather, wet fur, and very earthy. About an hour later in the glass, where did that wine go? Nose of roasted plums, crushed raspberries, cherries, licorice, earth, gravel, brown sugar. On the palate, raspberries, earth and minerality. Impeccable balance, and a lengthy finish. Strong acidic structure, and some very fine grained tannin remain. A bit of a disappointment given the hefty price tag. While still quite young, I'd expect to see more here at age 10.
