Mature, evolved colour; delicious ripe, creamy tannins, lovely balance, well-rounded, charme and finesse, good structure and freshness, harmonious.

A bit closed, quite powerful, classically structured, nice balance and length, good intensity and persistence.

Crisp, fresh fruit, taut, lovely ripe, even velvety tannins, classic, very good quality. 2006 character very much in evidence.

Relatively light colour, not a lot of oak, somewhat drying in the tannins, not without charm but lacks a certain amount of stuffing. Very young for its age - I thought it might be 2007.

First bottle was less than perfect. The second one had 10 minutes of glory. Fully mature, delicate and decadent, all elements perfectly melted together, perfumed (Chanel No 5 - jasmin), incredibly seductive, "une grande horzontale", "très sexuel", superb. Woop woop. And then it faded into mediocrity (88 points).

Very high quality wood, modern style, seductive, Rolland-like, lovely stuffing and juice, first-rate.

Farmyardy to the point of brett but this lifts slightly, hint of vanilla, medium weight, elegant but drying, drink up.

Unripe, grassy notes, thin and drying, tight acidity, cherry stones, chocolate, this is not going anywhere.

Aniseed, fully mature but not over the hill, smooth, charming, fades quickly in the glass.

Lovage, more vital than the 1989 but very vegetal, bay leaf, drying, lacks stuffing.

Very vegetal, drying bitters, unripeness.

There is a certain unripeness, peppers, vegetables, tight but sweetish at the same time, unknit, lacks stuffing.

Quite evolved, nice crushed fruits, lovely balance, elegant, quite tannic.

Slightly closed, fragrant oak, charming, opens up very well, perfumed.

Sweet fruit but very drying on the palate, edgy acidity. Not a perfect bottle, it would seem.

Rich, complete and classic, some evolution but wonderful vitality, powerful yet elegant, a beauty.

Quite a surprise, young, rich tannins, classically structured, friendly but with a lot of potential.

Odd. Very tight and young (I would have sworn it was 2008), sweet fruit, hint of candy but dry and thin at the same time.

2007 Château Rouget 87 Points
France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol
Young, quite tight but with a nice creaminess, lovely berry fruit, good length, modern, toasty oak, lacks some weight and stuffing. 2007 probably?

2001 Château La Conseillante 88 Points
France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol
Rather vegetal, bay, drying, light, opens up to more expressive oak, does not seem very old yet, 2004 perhaps? One gets the impression this is not a perfect bottle.

1996 Château Nenin 86 Points
France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol
Relatively light and dry, completely ready, not a lot of energy or interest. Will dry out, drink up.
