It had been five days since I returned from Burgundy, so needed to have some great Burgundy with friends. This was just what I needed.
Four whites, none oxidized, none corked! A great day.
2004 Arnaud Ente Meursault 1er Cru Gouttes d'Or 92 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Ripe apple, some peach aromas. Same fruit on palate, with some lemon hints near end. Lots of mineral and acid from middle to finish. Kept improving for 2 hours open.

2004 Arnaud Ente Meursault La Seve du Clos Plus Vieilles Vignes 93 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault
Intense, concentrated fruit aromas with some baking spice. Flavors of peach and ripe apple with some apple pie. Good acidity and minerality, but the finish really showcases fruit power and density.

1999 Maison Leroy Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières 92 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Slight signs of leakage, 2 cm ullage. Exciting floral start, very exciting. Good apple and pear flavors with modest spice. Not nearly as exciting as another bottle from a few months back from a different source.

2004 Morey-Blanc Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières 92 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Started slightly musty, which blew off in 10-15 minutes. Apple and lemon zest aromas with fresh mushroom in background. Fresh and vibrant fruit on palate, lots of power and energy, this wine still has room to improve.
