Many thanks to all for brings some precious bottles and the staff at the China Club who seemed unfazed with the amount of decanters on our table.
Riesling goes very well with chinese food
A big debate about the Paul Jaboulet Aîné Hermitage La Chapelle if it was flawed or not.
The '96s are really drinking lovely at the moment.
The white wines stole the night for me, in particular the Kistler Chardonnay and the Schlossgut Diel Dorsheimer Goldloch Riesling which went really well with the chinese food.

2008 Kistler Chardonnay Vine Hill Vineyard 96 Points
USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley
Nose of toasted hazelnut, apple, peach and lime. Wonderful rich creamy chardonnay with the right acidic balance that does not make it too thick. Smooth long length.
An excellent bottle and I will be back for more
