Flight 1 (5 Notes)

  • 2001 J. Moss Cabernet Sauvignon 91 Points

    USA, California, Napa Valley

This wine was really good. The nose had black currant, plum, and vanilla. There was also the slightest hint of chocolate. The palate was silky smooth, with nice red fruit, and oak. The tannins were very ripe, and the finish lasted a long time.

  • 2003 Château Duhart-Milon 89 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

I really liked the coffee aromas and flavors on this wine. They were very upfront and powerful. The nose also had some raspberry, plum, and vanilla. The palate was very smooth and had the same fruit as the nose, along with some cedar and a little vanilla. The tannins were very firm and the finish nice and long. If you like the smell of coffee, you'll like this one.

  • 2004 Gabrielle Collection Cabernet Sauvignon Juxtaposition 89 Points

    USA, California, Napa Valley

This wine was really interesting. The nose had black currant, along with a nice smell of candied plums. This was followed by a hint of vanilla. The palate was smooth, with nice dark fruit flavors, some oak, and a bit of vanilla. The tannins were solid, with a nice long finish.

  • 2000 St. Supéry White Meritage 88 Points

    USA, California, Napa Valley

This was an ok bottle of wine. It was a little too vegetal for my taste, but still pretty good. The nose had some black currant and plum, but the green vegetables covered it up a bit too much. Same with the palate. The tannins were firm, and the finish did last a long time.

  • 2004 Pascual Toso Cabernet Sauvignon 87 Points

    Argentina, Mendoza, Maipú

This was a pretty good $8 bottle of wine. It was a bit one dimensional, but still tasty. The nose had nice fruit. Black currant, some plum, and a touch of pepper and vanilla. The palate had the same dark fruit as the nose, as well as a bit of pepper and oak. The tannins were fairly soft, and the finish was a little bitter, but it lasted a medium long time.
