Flight 1 - Flight 1 - The not so 'entry' entry wine (1 Note)

  • 2010 Jean-Jacques Vincent Pouilly-Fuissé Château de Fuissé Tête de Cru 86 Points

    France, Burgundy, Mâconnais, Pouilly-Fuissé

    Alcohol :: 13.5%
    The aromas of this wine often highly expressive even when young. Refreshing and friendly with quite complex aromas of mineral, citrus, grapefruits dominated along with lily flower, mild saline mineral as well as a touch of riper yellow fruits. Crisp entry followed by light creamy mouth feel at the mid palate. Soft refreshing flavors of citrus lemon fruits, bitter lemon peel and mild spiciness at the medium length finished. Good value here.

Flight 2 - Flight 2 - Single vineyard (monopole) Trio (3 Notes)

  • 2010 Jean-Jacques Vincent Pouilly-Fuissé Les Combettes Château de Fuissé 87 Points

    France, Burgundy, Mâconnais, Pouilly-Fuissé

    Alcohol :: 13.5%
    Shy, refreshing aromas of mineral, ginger spice, citrus fruits and buttery note. With some swirling, hazelnut note emerged. This wine offers better depth and concentration as well as complex flavors that's lean toward yellow fruits than the Tete de Cru. Well defined acidity, mineral and acid structure which leads to soft, creamy finish with fresh herbs and again, light lemon peel bitterness. Character of Fuisse? 87+

  • 2010 Jean-Jacques Vincent Pouilly-Fuissé Le Clos Château de Fuissé 89 Points

    France, Burgundy, Mâconnais, Pouilly-Fuissé

    Alcohol :: 13.5%
    Hazelnut, with ripe yellow fruits aromas, almost pineapple and mango likes. However, the mineral, spices and white and yellow floral scents give the ripeness of the wine a good lift and energy. Even more creamier and fuller bodied. On the palate it offers chewy yellow fruits and mineral. Here, the 80% new oak obviously lends better richness and body to the wine. Most importantly the wine has sufficient fruits to counterbalance it. Clean, elegance, saline mineral infused medium length finished. Delicious. 89-90+

    France, Burgundy, Mâconnais, Pouilly-Fuissé

    Alcohol :: 13.5%
    Deepest and ripest on the nose in today line up, highly expressive and attractive which displays lemony fruits, nectarine, buttery scents, spices and mineral. There was a hint of sweet honey in the core too. Medium - Full bodied, good concentration of salted, roasted nut, vanilla and saline minerality. Lovely structure and balance here, the 100% new oak has fully absorbs by the amazing level of ripe yellow fruits. Amazing power and length yet remains pure and vibrant. Lovely! 90-91+

Flight 3 - Flight 3 - VV (2 Notes)

  • 2010 Jean-Jacques Vincent Pouilly-Fuissé Château de Fuissé Vieilles Vignes 90 Points

    France, Burgundy, Mâconnais, Pouilly-Fuissé

    Alcohol :: 13.5%
    Low yield. This too is deep and intense, but relatively backward and shy, but the underlying materials here are promising. Spicy, buttery with white and yellow fruits. Saline minerality waving around the mouth and slowly expands and delivers complex, intense flavors. Similar to the previous wines, this is pure and vibrant. Long finished with salted nut and mineral as well as mouth coating intensity. This wine will only getting better in the bottle, the most complete wine in the range. 90-92

  • 2001 Jean-Jacques Vincent Pouilly-Fuissé Château de Fuissé Vieilles Vignes

    France, Burgundy, Mâconnais, Pouilly-Fuissé

    Alcohol :: 13.5%
    Kinda reductive: smoke, gun powder, lemony, tangerine, mineral and spicy. Lots of roasted nut, but also quite spicy. A bit lean on the palate, I thought this was in a dumb phase, not expressive but showing good intensity though. Intense long finished with salty and bitter aftertaste. I'm kinda bothering by the bitterness at the very end, mineral?
