Introduction

No official notes were taken as I was busy serving and enjoying guests, but I’ve included first place votes in the flights below.

Flight 1 - Starter – Bollinger Champagne with assorted appetizers (1 Note)

Flight 2 - Chardonnay – With Fresh Blue Crab Cakes (4 Notes)

The Chardonnay flight was served with homemade Crab cakes and the RM Chardonnay was the unanimous favorite. All of the wines showed well and were quite good.

Flight 3 - Pinot Noir – With Roasted Pork and Cherry Compote (4 Notes)

The Dumol Pinot was again winner by 2 to 1. It was lush, round and just a beautiful wine. Again all of the wines were quite good (I did expect more fruit out of the Kistler so it may be closed down right now) and went very well with the roasted pork and cherry compote.

Flight 4 - Hodge-Podge Flight w/ Cheese Course (4 Notes)

We did not pick a favorite with the cheese course as everyone was just having too much fun with it. The unofficial poll I think probably went to the 1990 Kallstadter Saumagen Riesling Auslese with P’Tit Basque cheese as the best overall pairing, but people were clamoring over who got to finish the Delice De Bourgogne cheese. Many had seconds of both wine and cheese so I’d say it was a success.

Closing

Dessert – Chocolate Raspberry Mousse cake
