Cork broke on half. Nose pretty fantastic. Sweet, floral, ripe fruits, freshly cut pine tree. Took an hour to really find it’s place. 4 years since last and this is my last. After 1 hour, still ripe strawberries, plums, dark warm cherries, Marciano cherries, marzipan, meat, pipe tobacco, flint. Drinking, tart , red fruits popping, dark chocolate, smoke, leather, some heat, a very rich but pleasant wine doesn’t feel like fully mature but after 2.5 hours it’s getting bitter and falling apart. This wine is drinking very good for 2 hours then the carriage turns into a pumpkin… drink up now !!! When this wine turns …. It turns

I think the bottle was past its prime as opened a bit later than it should’ve been. Having said that it was still very drinkable and the colour had moved to brownish burgundy and you could still get some of the bouquet but would’ve been way better a couple of years ago. Missed opportunity!

Another Dumol from Joseph Phelps' cellar auction. Really hitting on all cylinders, no sign of fatigue. More lush than the Ryan.
