Long-time WCC member Larry provided nearly all the wines for this totally blind tasting. That is, other than Larry, none of us knew any of the wines. Moreover, we knew nothing about the wines other than that they would all be white.
With Grilled Ginger Salmon.
With Lemongrass Seafood and Tofu in a Bird's Nest.
With Crispy Boneless 1/4 Duck and Ginger Fish Sauce.
With White Cake.
Interesting and instructive tasting.

Tangerine nose is interesting. Very dry in the mouth, it sucks the moisture from mouth. Weird stuff. Might be much better with the right food, but with grilled ginger salmon, it is not good.

Peach nose. Sort, dry. Macintosh apples on the finish. A pleasant wine. I assume it is Riesling.

Soft lemon-peach nose. Medium length. Very nice. A little petrol in the finish. Quite pleasant. Goes well with the ginger salmon.

2007 Hermann J. Wiemer Dry Riesling Magdalena Vineyard 92 Points

Dry, tasty. Clearly Riesling. Quite tight. Needs more time. Shows better with the 2nd course of shellfish than with the salmon. Slowly opening. Hold if you got it. 91-94 points. Group WOTN #2. My #3.
