Flight 1 - Tribut (3 Notes)

Quite a surprise for me, as I'd had little experience with these wines. The AC and the Beauroy took full advantage of the vintage to produce classic, light weight Chablis.

  • 2010 Laurent Tribut Chablis

    France, Burgundy, Chablis

Pale. Sea breeze salinity. Light but good thrust with ripe lemon fruit and excellent minerality and stone at the end. Dynamite AC wine and really on the same plane as the Beauroy 1er Cru.

  • 2010 Laurent Tribut Chablis 1er Cru Beauroy

France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru

Also pale. Less saline and more floral. Really snappy with herbs, apple and citrus. Light and classic with a drier impression than the AC wine and good finishing bite. Classic Chablis and very good if not the grandest or most ostentatious 1er Cru.

  • 2010 Laurent Tribut Chablis 1er Cru Côte de Léchet

France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru

Most subdued nose of the 3 Tribut wines. Lush, leesy creaminess sets it apart from its mates. This is at least partially due to wood that is evident all the way through to the finish. Less fruit and Chablis typicity than the other 2 wines. In ways this reminded me of the Raveneau style. My least favorite.

Flight 2 - Courcel (3 Notes)

This too was a terrific set of wines from one of my least favorite communes in Burgundy. Unusually elegant and without the jarring structure of some Pommards. Bravo!
