Tasting at winery. Slightly reductive start. Powerful black fruit emerged with some air, but still slightly in background now behind tannins and acidt. Short finish.

Barrel tasting at winery. Approachable red and black fruit aromas with hints of leather and spice. Similar on palate. Ripe fruit but balance, just slightly short. Drink young while fresh. 85-88 point potential.

2004 Hewitt Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

Barrel tasting at winery. Deep dark fruit aromas showing black currant, blackberry and some cassis with good oak spice. Lush floral support. Powerful, well strcutured, long finish. Very good potential and this should age well, with perhaps a 2010-2019 drinking window. 92-94 point potential.

Barrel tasting at winery. Good fruit with moderate intensity and power. This comes across as a very "dialed back" 2003 vs. others I've tasted. Best to drink young. 86-88 point potential for me today.

Tasting at winery. Black cherry aromas with fresh herbs, some red cherry hints. Black cherry and blackberry flaovrs with some licorice, sweet tannins on finish. Drinking well now, should hold well for perhaps 5 years.

Tasting at winery. Rich and intense aromatic start with good spice and black fruit. Flavors of plum, spice and dark chocolate. fairly long finish starts showing more structure, less fruit and spice. Better in another 2-3 years.

Tasting at winery. Pleasant black fruit aromas. Plum, fresh herb, licorice, nutmeg, cocoa all come through to start, but domineering tannins in middle. Spice takes back control on finish. Tough for me to assess fairly today.

Tasting at winery. Moderate black fruit to start with new oak spice aromas. Firm black fruit on palate, somewhat hidden behind today's tannins, so there is definitely upside from here if this is in an awkward phase right now. Certainly better 2009 forward.

Tasting at winery. My favorite of the lineup today. Bright citrus fruit aromas and flavors. Some lemon peel on palate. Very good acidity and mineral character. Better 2008 or later.
