Lunchtime trade tasting with three importers so rush, rush, rush which explains the poor quality of my notes.
Nothing really shone for me from these four...I'm quite a fan of the Palacios Mencias but these ones didn't really fire me up.
2011 Marqués de Alella Pansa Blanca Alella
Spain, Catalunya, Alella
Nose: low intensity, mineral, slight spice and slight apple
Mouth: Apples and nuts...slight mid palate phenolic grip. There might be some residual sugar here that carries the apple fruit on the medium finish.

2011 Txomin Etxaniz Getariako Txakolina
Spain, País Vasco, Getariako Txakolina
Nose: stone fruit, slight citrus,
Mouth Medium plus sour acid, slight pettilance...grapefruit and lemon underpinned by minerality.
Nice but not for me.

2009 Descendientes de José Palacios Bierzo Villa de Corullon
Spain, Castilla y León, Bierzo
Nose: Medium plus intensity cherry and spice, savoury, meaty with notes of cream and vanilla
Mouth: Medium plus tannin - very grippy and talc textured tannin. Very tight. Cherry and bitter medicinal herbs that diminish a little too rapidly.
