Medium red. Nice mix of lighter red fruit and soil in a light package. No sense of underripeness or dilution. I wouldn't pay $70 for it, but a good effort for a lackluster vintage.
Slightly lighter than the '08. Black cherries and some alcoholic heat on the nose. Simple but deep dark red fruit, somewhat thin. The least complex and interesting of the 3 vintages, but at least it doesn't show excessive alcohol in the mouth.
Darkest of the bunch. Piercing aromatics of anise. The biggest, most dense wine of the trio. More brooding, black fruit character with powerful acidity. This is the one that will need most time, but already quite good.
