We had a flight of lovely Clape Cornas from the 90's accompagnied by a Champagne, a Chablis, an Hermitage and some Burgundies. A wonderful evening! Looking back I wonder, Why didn'to we end it with a dessert wine?
2006 Chartogne-Taillet Champagne Les Barres 93 Points
France, Champagne
Very beautiful Champagne made from non-grafted vines (plants non greffes).
Lovely yeasty nose. Very sweet soft fruit, balanced acidity, complex.

2010 Vincent Dauvissat (René & Vincent) Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos
France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis Grand Cru
Very young grand cru chablis, however already an expressive nose, saline and minerals, white flowers, citrus, some melon. In the taste lots of acidity, citrus, very mineral, saline. Lovely. No rating because of my limited experience with grand cru chablis.

2007 Domaine Michel Juillot Corton-Charlemagne 90 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Nose very restricted, a bit funny, plastic tones. Lovely taste, concentrated, stone fruit, mineral, beautifull acidity. Appears still tight. Long finish. A good wine. We were drinking this early for a Corton Charlemagne, this might explain the tightness.

2004 Bernard Boisson-Vadot Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières 92 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Lovely sweet apple, citrus and flowery nose. Taste more stone fruit, good acidity and minerality. Meursault can be very intense (sometimes too much of it to my taste, flavours exploding from your glass), this was a bit more restricted in its intensity which made the wine very special to enjoy.

1978 Delas Frères Hermitage Marquise de la Tourette 92 Points
France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Hermitage
Hermitage like nose, bacon, a bit watery and rusty. Lovely red fruit taste, smokey, some bacon tones, lovely finish. An hour after opening the taste improves with the fruit intensity increasing and becoming velvety.

1996 Domaine Auguste Clape Cornas 90 Points
France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Cornas
A lot like the 1997 Clape Cornas, but better structured due to higher acid levels. This is fully mature now.

1997 Domaine Auguste Clape Cornas 89 Points
France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Cornas
Meaty, peppery nose, black olives. Taste red fruit, ripe and mature. Limited intensity. A bit lean regarding tannins and acidity. Lingering finish.

1998 Domaine Auguste Clape Cornas 91 Points
France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Cornas
Dark fruit nose, roasted meat, pepper, ink. Taste full bodied, dark fruit, full bodied, a bit cabernet like. A few hours after opening this wine improved considerably losing its cabernet like tones and becoming more Cornas.

1999 Domaine Auguste Clape Cornas 89 Points
France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Cornas
Shiraz nose, taste drying out with fruit fading a bit and still presence of lots of tannins, acidity almost gone. Or is it still tight and is this wine going to reveal itself in a couple of years? Not my favorite of the 90's Clapes.

2000 Domaine Auguste Clape Cornas 92 Points
France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Cornas
Wonderful Shiraz nose, lots of acids balanced by fine red and black fruit, full bodied. This wine has it all, but has not yet come round to full maturity. Could be magical in a few years.

1995 Domaine Auguste Clape Cornas 94 Points
France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Cornas
Lovely nose, pepper, bacon. Taste also lovely, beautifull acidity, soft tannins. What is clearly different in comparison to all other Clapes we drank this evening is the enormous width and complexicity of taste in this wine in the mid-palate. It really starts to expand and unfold in your mouth. My Clape of the 90's.

Nose with dark fruit, taste full bodied, too much wood to my taste.

2010 Emmanuel Rouget Vosne-Romanée 93 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée
The first thing which is remarkable about this wine is the feminine, intoxicating nose, complex with vosne spices. There are tones of oak bot not obtrusive. Taste full of fruit, spice, oak, but very balanced. Will be wonderful in time, but is a real treat already now.

2009 Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin Vieille Vigne
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin
This was not singing as this GC Vieilles Vignes normally does with acidity and minerals soaring in your mouth. Is it closing down?
