Took about 15min in the glass to open up on the nose giving up earth, leather and mature red fruit aromas. Palate was a step up with a nice silky profile and perfectly balanced acidity and fully resolved tannins. A really nice old cabernet. Preferred the nose of the '84 but the palate of this '74. Drink now as this isn't going to get any better. Excellent.
Better nose than the '74 but the palate here was more angular and less balanced. Nose here was a nice example of well aged Cali cabernet with a nice blend of red fruits and secondary aromas. This is probably as good as this wine is going to get but should cruise here for years. Very good.
On the nose, this was very different than the previous two BVs. Loads of mint on the nose with cool cabernet fruit and hints of chocolate. Well balanced on the palate with resolved tannins and nice acidity and length. Drink now but no rush. Excellent.
Really nice nose with darker fruits and hints of subtle wood. Less concentrated than the '03 but obviously showing more weight and upfront fruit than any of the previous wines. Approachable and just entering its early drinking window. Should improve and develop more complexity/secondary aromas with another 5-10 years. Very good. 89+
This was the most forward wine of the night. Had the sweetest fruit and the most concentrated and soft profile on the palate. The fruit here is in the blueberry spectrum which isn't my preference. Several others thought this was the best wine so far and it's probably quite good for its style, but it's a style I don't really enjoy.
Served blind. For those who subscribe to Gilman, his tasting note sums this wine up perfectly. For those who don't, this will have to do: Most Bordeaux-like wine so far tonight with mature dark fruit and earth on the nose. Balanced and perfectly mature on the palate. A really nice classic Napa cab. Drink now. Excellent.

Served blind. This showed extremely for it's humble origins. Fairly classic in profile and drinking perfectly right now. Excellent.

Served blind. Roasted nose with loads of ripe fruit. A warm and boozy profile. My least favorite wine of the night.
