    Bright gold.
    Light biscuit nose.
    Crisp, rich, fruity, not very complex, medium length.

  • 1997 Château Haut-Brion 89 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan

    Slight signs of age, very translucent.
    Very appealing nose, fruity with plenty of complexity, still youthful.
    Fruity attack, maybe lacking a bit in acidity, generally very attractive, smooth mid palate, reasonable length, still a little way to go before it starts to decline.

  • 1997 Château Lafite Rothschild 92 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

    Fairly deep colour.
    Very attractive nose, fruity, farmyard, mature and complex.
    Fruity, tannin and acidity beautifully balanced, full bodied, slightly tarry and peppery, classy and very long, still maturing and will take 5 to 10 years to peak.

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux

    Intense colour, opaque.
    A slightly closed nose, maybe delicate is a better word, perfumed by many levels of fruit, farmyard maturity.
    This wine is close to full maturity, Very sweet fruit, lovely balance, there's perfume in the taste, great length.

  • 1997 Château Latour Grand Vin 90 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

    Medium, mature colour.
    The nose seems without great complexity, fruity, farmyard, very attractive.
    Loads of fruit, smooth with plenty of body, good length, will continue maturing for at least 4 years.

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

    Dark colour with a slight indication of age.
    A really attractive complex nose, intense fruit and farmyard.
    Smooth, fruity, perfect balance, complex, wonderful, almost at its best, very long.
