Medium yellow. Toast and caramel. Full, rich, toffee flavors. Mellow. Big wine for Chardonnay with barrel aging obvious. Slightly oxidative style. I liked this.
Magnum. Light yellow. Moderately lively mousse. Black cherry nose and deeply pitched black cherry flavors. Medium weight, moderate dosage. A bit simple and short on minerality.
Magnum. Light yellow. Large bubbles. Sharp, distinctly herbal nose. Light to medium weight, moderately sweet entry, solid acidity, flavors dominated by green herbs. Very different and not to my taste.
Again based upon 2011 fruit. Pale pink. Very frothy. Mix of herbs and strawberry. Some wood present but medium weight, delicate, dry, nice stony finish. Clean, refreshing and very good.
Deep salmon. Medium fine bead. Fennel scents. Full bodied, low pitched black/red fruit. Lower acidity gives it a somewhat dull feel, but overall, not bad.

1999 Billecart-Salmon Champagne Cuvée Nicolas François Billecart
France, Champagne
Yellow. Toasty oak. Lively mousse. Rich with good round texture but not a lot of discernible fruit. This is just too woody.
