Château de Puligny-Montrachet Tasting with Mr Etienne de Montille. Organised by Berry Bros & Rudd. Event was crowded, and I had many familiar people to chat with. Hence, no formal tasting notes.
From the tasting, I gather that Château de Puligny-Montrachet style seems to be elegance, linearity, and mineral focused.
2011 Château de Puligny-Montrachet Bourgogne Blanc Clos du Château
France, Burgundy, Bourgogne Blanc
Light, fresh and clean citrus nose. Pretty straightforward on the palate. Citrus and green apple. Crisp acidity. Short finish. Easy drinking. Nothing memorable.

2011 Château de Puligny-Montrachet Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly Blanc
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Saint-Aubin 1er Cru
Nice nose of stony minerality. Citrus lime and minerals on the palate. Good acidity. More minerals than fruit, somehow feels a little off-balance. Medium finish.

2011 Château de Puligny-Montrachet Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chalumeaux
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
Nose very subdued, with fine white floral hints. On the palate, citrus lemon-lime, with beautiful balanced minerality. Linear and focused. Good long finish. Developing. Give this more age and it may shine.

2011 Château de Puligny-Montrachet Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Noticeable oak on the nose, with nice stony minerality. On the palate, young and tight, but showing some stony minerality and citrus fruit. Long finish. Developing. Will improve and open up in a few more years.

2011 Château de Puligny-Montrachet Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
Nose quite open with light white flowers and citrus fruit. On the palate, citrus lemon-lime and nectarine. More fruit than minerals here. High acidity. Medium+ finish. Accessible now but not at full potential. Will improve with age.

2011 Château de Puligny-Montrachet Chevalier-Montrachet
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru
Nose is really sleeping now. Almost zilch. Maybe a hint of fine minerality if I stretch my imagination a little. Similarly closed on the palate. Appears to be flat. But I think this is more a manifestation of its linearity, and a reflection of the elegance, understatement, and refined nature of Chevalier-Montrachet. Palate woke up intermittently and then went back to sleep. Can definitely feel the depth and weight of the Grand Cru here. Drinking this now is a crime. Keep for at least 5 years+ more before even thinking of popping one.

2008 Château de Puligny-Montrachet Chassagne-Montrachet
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet
My favourite wine of the tasting. Ready to drink now. Village level but so good.
Nose is open and pronounced, with aromas of toasted oak, smoke, limestone, and citrus fruit.
On the palate, high acidity, with flavours of creamy oak, chalky limestone, citrus lemon-lime. Long finish.

2011 Château de Puligny-Montrachet Monthélie
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Monthélie
Pale intensity, ruby colour with a purplish tinge.
Youthful nose of greenish stems, sweet red fruits, and a bit of bubblegum. Immediately reminded me of a Beaujolais.
On the palate, washed-out and thin with flavours of sweet raspberry, strawberry, and bit of spice towards the finish. Short finish.
I have definitely tasted better Monthélie than this.
