Patrick Taylor seems to be making some off the grid items that are really well executed. I respect his wine philosophy and tastes and admire his willingness to take on a challenge: Pinot Blanc, 100% Counoise, and domestic Nebbiolo should frighten most people. I don't want to say that these varieties will catch on and be the next big thing from Oregon and Washington, but there is something very innovative here. Good job.
2013 Cana's Feast Winery Pinot Blanc
USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
Tart green fruit, floral, capers; good fruit on palate, depth, fresh, high acid, citrus, lemon; very good; reminiscent of Alsace.

2012 Cana's Feast Winery Counoise
USA, Washington, Columbia Valley
Pale maroon purple; dark sour cherry, soft floral, soft raspberry; fresh acid, light extraction, restrained; young but I like the drinkability; really reminds me of Oregon Pinot.

2008 Cana's Feast Winery Nebbiolo Ciel du Cheval Vineyard
USA, Washington, Columbia Valley
See through dull red; roses, dull cherry, cinnamon, spicy; good structure, similar dryness on the back to Italian Nebbiolo, some stewed cherry; a good example of domestic Nebbiolo.
