Blind. Ginger and marzipan, coconut, Turkish delight - feels very correct to its variety. Clean palate with a floral element throughout. Had a lick of sweetness, with the age having dropped some of the richness that would have originally been there. Still has brightness, this is in great condition.
Intense nose, spice, orange peel, lemon and pear. Had richness on the palate as well, it is full but does have cut behind it as well. Good and drinking well now.
Floral aspect to the nose, lemon, mineral spice. Not overbearing on the pale had a real mineral steak to it with just a touch of roundness that gives it immediate appeal. Good structure and doesn't show the alcohol element at all.
AP #21. Mineral, Orange, lemon, spice. Excellent on the palate with fine acidity and a lick of delicious sweetness to it. Consistent balance across its length. Drinking well now to 5 years.
AP #23. Passionfruit, lime, a little floral note and some peach. Quite sweet but also has amped up acidity. Good oomph and intensity, medium length. It's a little too straightforward at the moment, but I think it will improve.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru
Spice, raspberry, spice, ash and graphite with just a light stalk touch to the nose. After time the floral notes emerge more and it takes on a pretty dimension. Plenty of red fruit power on the palate, ther eis bright acidity to counter the density of the fruit. Good length and the tannins are there in the background to give it some structure.
Tar, menthol, graphite and plums. Bit hard to get much from it at the moment (decanted with a stopper for around 12 hours), it is so tight and just pure structure for the moment. The nose has more interest and I'm sure this'll come around, just tough to assess now.
