Meals in France; 3/21/2022-3/26/2022 (France): Lean black fruit, meats, and savory spice aromas are east to enjoy. Leaner yet on palate with faint pyrazene greenness is slightly less fun, yet with the substance to remain balanced. Best to enjoy near-term before fruit softens. Less stuffing vs a bottle from a few months ago.

Burgundy Dinner with Friends (Andros Taverna): Served single blind in Dujac 2011 flight. A bit of protruding SO2 here, with lots of structure, this was less forthcoming than most 2011s, and seemingly awkward. Maybe teasing us with its potential, but enticing, even if not fully enchanting (yet). Clearly not yet quite at its peak drinking window.

A very floral nose, with some sandalwood notes too. It has a hint of meatiness in the mouth and crisp cherry fruit. It is relatively compact and lithe, finishing with good cut and fanning out. Nice proportion and balance.

Need at least 2-3 hrs of air and will improve. The vintage is lack of concentration and it is not up to Dujac’s standard.

Drunk at Legrand in Paris. Still very restrained but good structure and depth. Drinking well now after two hour decant but needs a few years yet.
