Full straw. Half a forest on the nose. Plenty of vanilla and also a pinch of coconut. Rich and really quite full. Broad. All the subtlety of a sledgehammer. This is weight over style currently. Very dense. Not sure that this will ever integrate prior to oxidising. Hmmm. Well, not my thing, but *(**) maybe.

Nicely pale, no more than pale straw. Very fragrant in a light and almost ethereal sense; scented talc almost. Fresh with a pineappley tropical fruit attack and then lots of weight and richness through the long finish. Retains a sense of elegance. Lots of mineral grip and showing a nice line. Quite uncharacteristically elegant and fresh. ****

Full straw to light gold. An old school dusty, cheesy nose. Full and quite rounded, mid-weight. Traditional neutral flavour profile. Nose remains a little too distinctive. Unashamedly old school. Others liked this more. Decent on the palate though. (*)*1/2

Reductive and fizzy; greatly improved by being battered about a bit. Slightly wild, red-fruited nose, quite friary and brambley. Nicely fragrant lift. Something a little wild and unconventional. Retains its grip and seems to have a slightly honeyed lip-smacking quality. Opens up beautifully. ****

Really quite dense and surly. Dark-fruited, a touch of cola and something really quite herbal. As with a bottle last year, there's something pruney alongside the structure. Not sure. The structure requires a long time to soften. Currently **

Deep garnet. A properly autumnal woodland nose and just a touch of caramel. Quite silky. A freshness and bright acidity that transcends the vintage. Consistent with a bottle a couple of years ago. ****

Nicely dense, plush nose. Densely silky with a fine acidity through the finish. There's something that one can't quite place though, and after a while it seems to be a little corky on the finish. Shame, still drinkable, but not quite as impressive as previously. Initially ***1/2

Dense wild strawberry nose with a meaty and ferrous density. Hugely fragrant and expressive, though it tightens up towards the end of the lunch. Floral with bergamot on the nose. Good acidity and lovely line. Just about getting there though should be plenty still to come. Silky with a firm edge. ****1/2

Comprehensively corked

Less sweet and more medicinal than previous bottles. Relatively light and possibly a little lean. Contemplation rather than pudding. Elegant and with a good line though. ***1/2

Palest of pink tinges in the style of Bereche. Dry with a touch of yeast. Finely chalky. Some body to this, cut through by a lovely line. Elegant. Opens up and puts on weight and develops some width. Retains a fine mousse but not quite the fresh elegance it started with. Far more honeyed on the nose now and plenty of extract on the finish. Lovely. ****
