  • 2006 Vincent Dauvissat (René & Vincent) Irancy 87 Points

    France, Burgundy, Côtes d'Auxerre, Irancy

Dark-ish colour. A bit of barnyard, soft dark cherries on the nose. Medium bodied, again an airy feeling to this wine. Good balance. Lacks in character and overall complexity.

  • 2006 Thierry Richoux Irancy 85 Points

    France, Burgundy, Côtes d'Auxerre, Irancy

From a magnum. It is almost spritzy, very lively and racy. Nose of barnyard, juicy fruits, minerality, dark cherries. Tannin on the upper lip. I was told maceration went on for a year and it seemed correct judging by the wine. It reminded me of some natural wines but in a good way.

  • 2009 Alphonse Mellot Sancerre Rouge La Moussière 88 Points

France, Loire Valley, Upper Loire, Sancerre Rouge

Smoked sausage, fat fire fried sausage on the nose. Sweeter than the previous wines, few tannins, friendly-fruity-light body, also a bit jammy on the palate. Interesting.
